"We had lunch in the outside area over the road, and greatly enjoyed watching life on Allées Paul Riquet. The menu offers a good choice, not just pasta and pizzas. The waiter was very pleasant and attentive, and the tables were not loaded with the umpteen polished glasses and linen napkins which promise a lengthy, expensive and torpor-inducing meal. My wife had a grilled steak with salad and frites, which she said was excellent. I had a Perigordine salad, which contained very generous amounts of both smoked breast and gesiers, together with a side order of frites. I loved it. That, with a couple of pichets of well chilled rosé, cost 28 Euros. Pretty good.Yes, it is touristy, but that's what we were. There must be quite a few of us around Béziers, so it's no crime to cater for us. Purists might find lots to be sniffy about, but for us it was just fine. We'll certainly go again."

"We came across this place on a Monday evening and went in mainly because there was a good band playing. The waiter was pretty moody and told us they were only doing tapas and refused to give us a drinks menu, although other people seemed to be getting other food. Anyway, we ordered a cheese platter and the seafood platter, along with house red wine and 1664 beer. The food was good and all the other staff were friendly and attentive. Also had an ice cream dessert and a coffee. Good value - you pay up front so no need to wait for the bill."

"Had a lunch here in July - three adults and two children. The staff were friendly initially and the menu is extensive. The food looked really great when it arrived but the parillade mer, at 29.90 for 2 people, was tasteless as was the paella. Children's menu is available and their food was fine. When I went to pay a staff member shouted from the kitchen '10% tip' in English which I found quite rude and did not honour as a result. Avoid this place."

"The kitchen was good but half of the dishes on the menu were not available. often supplements to be added if you take the flat menu entry. 30 July staff were totally incompetent. avoid taking the mozzarella tomato entrance; a tomato just cut in 2 with a small slice of mozzarella in the middle (€8.90), I do better at home.Excellent and very good burger.We still wondered where the camera was hidden so much the service was memorable. We've been laughing."

"This is one of these places I really like. A restaurant as close to the market as possible. The inside food market in Beziers offers great fresh food and a yummie selection of fresh fish. Inside the market you find two or three small restaurants, Le Rouget Blue being one of them. We walked in the food hall on a Sunday afternoon and were so happy to see this place. Most tables were filled with happy and relaxed locals enjoying fresh seafood and wine. When you see this you just want to join them! We had oysters with Chardonnay, different kinds of seafood and really enjoyed. The lady who served us was really helpful and attentive. I love this place!"

"Well after our visit last year we were looking forward to visiting again for lunch. We took some friends with us and we all had the plat du jour. This turned out to be fish, and I'm sad to say that it was not cooked properly - indeed virtually raw. When this was pointed out we got a kind of apology but were left with the impression that they really could not care less. So I'm afraid we won't be going back there again."
