"A Michelin one star restaurant. Underwhelming. We had mussels and anchovies cooked two ways for a starter. The mussels did not taste as anything really, and were underseasoned to our taste. The anchovies where ok and the sauce was nice. However 20 euro for 4 fishes is too much given the fact that two days earlier in Porto we had 12 grilled sardines for 6 euros at the beach. And fatty grilled fish flavor is essentially the same. So you are paying for one of the cooks putting charcoal over the fish in front of you. For a main course we had sweetbreads and tuna belly. The tuna was very good and flavorful we really liked it. The sweetbreads preparation is a miss for me deep frying does not do anything for flavor. The sweetbreads tasted as pop corn chicken in the US mostly the batter. For desserts we had avocado ice cream nice combination of salty and sweet we liked a lot) and some strawberry desert that was good but not outstanding. The wines are reasonably priced. We had a local hondarrabi zuri and it was excellent. The staff is nice, efficient and attentive they do not bother you much as at some of similar places. We opted out of a tasting menu and it was the right choice. We also had some complimentary starters from the chef. I did not understand the “gazpacho” it tasted like raw celery juice. The other three were good. Overall it was a pleasant experience, but in my opinion it does not worth the money…I will not return"

"We ate an established menu that has medium serving of octopus, croquettes, salad (some tomato and lots of lettuce), and chop, in addition to dessert and drink. the very rich octopus, the croquettes, homemade, also rich, the bad, hard chop, too much made, which makes the product even worse. homemade desserts, most cakes, also rich. rations of correct size. local with traditional decoration. It has an inner dining room, where we ate, which was filled and which was very noisy, also serve meals in the bar area. spacious tables and good distance between them. very agile and pleasant service. correct prices, it's not expensive. We'll come back because we got the octopus, and see if we have any luck with the rest of the food we ask."

"This place gave me the best food experience in Basque country!. Had some pinxtos and walked around the city center. Later on i got a craving for a good steak, walked over to Casco Viejo and sat down with my phone to find a nice Asador or Resturang, on 4.4 rating i went straight to Egiluz, For a tourist like me with zero spanish or basque knowledge the service was extremely good with a large amount of good humor. I ordered the huge Chuletón and what was served was just meat heaven! John , Sweden"

"The Fork website let us plan an 8:00 clock reservation, but the location is not really open until 8:30 clock. they were nice enough to apologize that we are not in a position to us with a few free glasses wein while we waited. the food was fantastic, but our order was a little messed up: we ordered 4 ham and 4 cheese croquettes, but they brought 8 cheese croquettes. they recognized their mistakes and tried to fix it, but accidentally sent another 4 cheese croquettes (which we could not finish because we already started eating enough and did not want to be full before our escapes arrived.) unfortunately we had no chance to try the croquettes. the server was attentive and very courteous. and the escapes were fantastic, especially the hake with salsa verde, the steak with food and kartoffel, and the absorbent verde."
