"This historical location is called the birthplace of Maine, so it was a must-visit for me as I explore my family 's roots in Colonial America. It was an excellent decision. The atmosphere was homey and welcoming, our waitress was friendly and warm, and the FOOD. My husband and I ordered the king prime rib, and you cannot tell me that those portions we received were only 14oz. They were 18oz, easy. And they were tender, flavorful, and swimming in delicious au jus. Because I am allergic to potatoes, I ordered the sweet potato fries, which I have learned to... reluctantly enjoy. The sweet potato fries at Jameson Tavern were simply PERFECT. No reluctance in my enjoyment. The best fries I 've had in a long time, even without the sweet potato qualifier. I cannot be effusive enough about these fries! Come for the history, stay for the prime rib and fries. And come back for more fries."

"The food was outstanding and my date and I really enjoyed the live band that performed beneath the dining area outside. The service really could have been better. It seemed like our waitress disappeared for part of the night. When I asked for the check, she cleaned off our table and disappeared. She was taking care of other tables. She very easily could have handed us the check before she cleaned off the table. When she brought over the check about 10 minutes later, she was in a hurry and left for another 10 minutes. Then she came back and took my credit card and disappeared for another 10 minutes, I wish I was exaggerating. I understand that being a waiter/waitress is not the easiest job in the world, but another waitress came over to us to ask if someone has been taking care of us. I think that is a red flag. We sat at our table for an extra 30-40 minutes just trying to pay and leave. Our waitress needs to manage time better for future customers or else future customers will not exist."

"David's is truly one of those special places for amazing food. We started the roasted brussel sprouts, which are dressed with crushed peanuts and some kinds of sweet sauce (but not overly sweet) over it all. The crispy skin duck breast is perfectly medium rear on a bed of risotto and sautéed greens. The pizza was reminiscent of thin crust NY style pie. Loved it all, we'll be back."

"This place is very overrated. Our hotel and multiple locals recommended it but I think it's just because it's close by. Check in attendant was very blunt and didn't really describe the seating areas. We chose the deck option, which had the openings blocked and heaters on (due to the winter temps) so it was a very comfortable and nice atmosphere. The waiter didn't introduce himself and just kinda interjected himself by throwing down some silverware and asking us if we wanted anything other than water. We of course had to try the lobster, which was good, but their deep fried seafood selection was bland and soggy. Online menu is also different than their in-store menu (not based on seafood availability but literally that you could not order some things in the way it was described on the website). Their cocktails were mixed well and the bartender was friendly."

"Went here today and the food was delicious. The waitress was very nice and friendly. The food was prepared very quick, temperature was just right. The drinks were on the money. I will definitely be going back."
