"Honestly, I am not a fan of mushrooms and calamari, but La Pala has converted me to these wonderful foods. The mushrooms in the appetizer seriously changed my life. The creativity of the chef bring these food to their true potential. I also had the margarita pizza which was phenomenal!"

"I like to call Vito?s Ristorante and Pizzeria ?home? for several reasons. The food, hospitality and service make you feel like you are sitting in your own dining room. We?ve been coming to Vito?s for years now and the food is always fresh, delicious and creative. Angela shares her recipes from her hometown in Sicily and we always look forward to something new on the daily special menu. The prices are great for the amount of food you get?there?s always plenty and I take home my leftovers for another meal. My favorite is the Chicken Sorrentino with red sauce?moist, tender chicken with thin slices of eggplant and prosciutto. Most recently my husband ordered the Chicken Daniela over Broccoli Rabe with shrimp, thinly sliced fried potatoes with lemon wine sauce. All entrées are served with either pasta and your choice of sauce or salad. Order the salad with the house dressing?it is to die for and a secret recipe. I?ve tried to copy it but just can?t seem to get it right! You can?t go wrong with ordering anything from the menu?seriously. The pizza is crispy and delicious. We especially like the Grandma pie with its thin, crispy crust. Owner Mario (married to Angela) really knows how to make a pizza and is definitely the best around. Their son Vito manages the restaurant and does a great job. Vito?s is a real asset to Glen Cove and a stand out amongst all the other Italian restaurants and pizzerias. They won the 2019 Best of Long Island in 5 categories for Wings, Mussels, Spinach Pie Sausage Pepper Sandwich as well as Best Dinner Deal. Every Tuesday is pasta night and you?ll get your choice of five or six different pastas, soup or salad and dessert and coffee for $12. Get there early as tables fill up fast. If you haven?t tried Vito?s, you don?t know what you?re missing?trust me. I look forward to returning there week after week."

"One of my favorite local restaurants because of their amazing food and drinks. I normally order a bottle of wine and a charcuterie board, but I wanted to try something different this time. My sister got a lemon drop mocktail which was a little sour, but just the right amount. She said it was delicious I had the Penelope Pussycat which had Bacoo 8 year aged rum, Liqueur de Violette, and lemon juice. The drink had such a pretty color and had an interesting flavor to it as well!For appetizers, we had the Gambas al Aljillo which had a nice corn salsa to go along with it. We also had the Roasted Cauliflower which was cooked perfectly and the Beef Kushiyaki which came with chilled soba noodles. The Beef Kushiyaki was something so unique that I would not have thought I was in a wine bar. It was so flavorful! For our entree we got the Black Truffl'd Fettucine. The pasta was a bit bland, and I was surprised because I usually always order that pasta and it's my favorite. I think the sauce might have been a bit watered down. For dessert we had some tea and the Meritagewich' which comes with homemade chocolate chip cookies. The tea and dessert was perfect for a cold day!I definitely recommend trying this place out with a few friends and ordering a bunch of small plates to share. This way you can try a bit of everything. I really loved every single small plate we ordered! Thank you so much to the staff that made our experience a pleasant one"

"Do not go here if you have a gluten allergy. I made it very clear on the server that took my order that o had a gluten allergy. He seemed to have understood until he came by and switched over my gluten-free pasta with regular pasta. I also asked him for the olives and cheese plate without the bread for the Bruschetta and was told to scrape it off the bread and eat it. The simply grilled chicken with sauce and mozzarella was not so great either. If you're a celiac, don't waste your time and money here."

"Every time i go to La Ginestra i'm happy i did. the food is great. the service is very good and they have valet parking to make it easy. the bar is a bit tight on a crowded night but not a big issue. on a cold, snowy wintery night it just feels very warm and almost vermont like (its a compliment !! . the baby artichoke appetizer may be my favorite dish in any restaurant that i eat in. it is a bit pricey but nobody leaves disappointed after a meal at La Ginestra."
