"Having often eaten at l'Estagnol in Narbonne we thought we would stop for lunch at l'Estagnol in Gruissan. Big mistake. The coolness of the welcome should have alerted us and it went downhill from there. We ordered the menu du marche expecting whatever was fresh from the market. The choice was the thinnest sausage I have ever seen and a small portion of dauphinoise potatoes or encornets farcies ( stuffed squid) neither of which came fresh from any market. We ordered a pichet of very ordinary rose which cost 9 euros. We had no bread no napkins and not a smile in sight. We both agreed that the desert would need to be magnificent to make the offering worth the 14 euros menu price. We were offered chocolate mousse and when my wife asked about choice the choice was take it or leave it despite us overhearing French couples being offered other deserts. The actual food to be fair was tasty but the whole experience fell so far short of any reasonable expectation that we felt completely ripped off. Reluctantly our advice is avoid this restaurant at all costs."

"Had the grilled sardines that came with a delicious salad and a plentiful bowl of fries. others had seen the small dorade, hamburger and chèvre toasts all high. all employees well masked, good social distancing and tables thoroughly cleaned between sitting. prices not at...all inflated- very good price for quantity and quality slightly 25% less than they would find in the harbour area. this restaurant is located in the chalet area of gruissan, which has its own special atmosphere. surf them while adequate for one of the most important sports in this opposite."

"We arrived at We were still waiting for our first course minutes later. The quality of the food was good. We enjoyed what we had, the fixed price menu of the day, but the attitude of the waiter was unacceptable. He thought it...was amusing and as we were on holiday we should be prepared to wait. WRONG. The restaurant was very busy but usually you would expect to be served a first course within minutes. Other diners were served much more quickly, especially locals. We have eaten here before and we had brought a friend who was shocked at the dreadful service. We won’t be in a rush to return because over two hours to eat a simple three course meal is just ridiculous."

"Good table! In a warm atmosphere at the rhythm of Cuban music: Buena vista!! Fresh and very well prepared products. Excellent parsillad knives, curry molds with a very good curry! Real fries with real potatoes, gustative pleasure. A good selection of wines. No heaviness on the stomach. We will come back to taste a Mojito cocktail like in Cuba!) and take a dessert because yesterday we were filled. What the Casa viva!"

"Just as good as ever. Quick service, good basic food and prices that are a bargain in generally over priced' Gruissan. Try a petit pitcher of red wine for example, the every friendly Arno (the owner) gets it from where he works in the winter,...really good red wine at a ridiculous price. Chips at if you just want a nibble. Gets busy on a Saturday so go early or reserve a table."

"Nous sommes allé dîner fin juin dans ce restaurant .Pas évident à trouver le long du port mais des amis nous en avait fait l'éloge donc nous avons voulu tester.Un Super accueil pour ce tout petit restaurant, le gérant est au petit soin pour ses clients et pour les enfants !Une carte plutôt correcte et une jolie vue sur le port .Nous avons très bien dîner pour un prix plus que correct . Les produits étaient frais et nous n'avons pas eu l impression de tomber dans une restaurant attrape touristes comme il y en a par dizaines à Gruissan.Je le recommande vivement ce fut une très agréable surprise !"
