"I love Japanese food and I am been in a few Japanese restaurants around the world but not in Japan yet and I can tell you that this is just one the best around the county and I am not talking just about sushi and sashimi but try the baked mussels and you’ll understand what I am talking about; I was born close to a lake where they harvest mussels and we also use to bake them and God forgive me if I deny my Sicilianity but I can tell you that these mussels here at Toyo Sushi are the best I ever had, no joke. I got some rolls, sushi and the baked mussels and everything was so good, next time I’ll let my wife driving because I need to re-enjoy this restaurant with some wine or beer."

"For about 5 years. but not often enough. I don't understand some of the low-star reviews. beautiful restaurant with beautiful ambiente. low music in the background, ampil lighting, clean and comfortable sitting. our waiter was pleasant, asked for refills on drinks and broth and asked how our food was. eating was very fresh, hot served and was very delicious. wife had kalbmarsala, very delicate and tasty. I had grilled salmon with a pesto sauce, very juicy and good taste. with an appetizer and two regular drinks with 20 drinking money paid 70 mice. every penny worth. I know you can't make everyone happy, but the happiness starts with one."

"I wish I could rate this more than 5 stars because it was truly one of the best dining experiences we've ever had and our waiter Bruce, made our experience even more memorable! Bruce was on point with his recommendations in relation to what we were looking for in an appetizer, entree dishes, wine and dessert. I really appreciate that he didn't try to up-sell us either which most waiters do... I found my new favorite wine too because of him. We have decided to make this place one of our regular spots. Highly highly recommend this hidden gem, especially Bruce."

"This is now our favorite Thursday night hangout. The service is fabulous. They are so unbelievably accommodating. People are truly friendly. The food is great. I didn’t love the flavor I picked the first time but she brought me out some different sauces to try and wow! Perfect. The seafood has always been on point and I’m a picky seafood eater so it’s truly saying something. They even do the shrimp plain for my 2 year old. She requests Shrimp By You! Super clean as well! "The best Jjamppong (seafood noodle soup) in Torrance, period.I believe they have a new cook as the soup tasted different than before COVID. The soup actually have two of each, shrimp, mussel, and a few strips of squid and a few pieces of small scallops. The Chef pan-fried the onion first o slightly charred, which brings out the flavor before adding other ingredients. The spicy level is at medium, but that is hot enough for me (I do eat spicy food regularly). I would also add a spoonful of white vinegar."
