"The friendly owner visited us and knew exactly what was vegan, and how to adapt (and improve) dishes to be vegan. She was happy to see vegans and we actually met several local vegans on the island surprisingly. She said when you call, she can make almost any Mediterranean dish vegan. We did not pretend, so we had vegan options from the regular menu: Risotto alla Sicily was delicious and cooked in a tomato sauce with roasted vegetables such as local olives, aubergines, zucchini, mushrooms and peppers. They also have homemade vegan pasta alla Sicily, or vegan pasta with a simple tomato sauce. You can also order individual roasted vegetables such as potatoes, etc., cooked in olive oil. I had the Mediterranean plate as an appetizer and it was amazing. Artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, capers and olives, dressed in olive oil. Incredibly good local delicacies. I also had a glass of local white and red wines, of which I prefer white. Order the quality wine through the glass. In USD, our meal felt cheap for quality and service, and if I return to Vis on a day, this will be our place. In addition to the owner who knows about veganism, our waiter and host also knew what was vegan. The outdoor seating is on a terrace with palm trees on the beach. There is a grocery store over the walkway with fruit and food for your hotel."
