"Come here every time I am in Basel, sometimes 3 nights in a row. Food is really good, I always have the same dish because I love it so much. My colleagues have different dishes and they are a hit. Outside seating in summer is a bonus. We usually don't reserve but have always accommodated us even on busy evenings. Service is quick and friendly."

"Fusion of Flavors is a unique concept I hadn’t heard of before in that it combines both Filipino and traditional Indian entrees on the same menu. It was my first time to Basel and I found this restaurant by chance on a warm autumn Monday night. Whenever I visit a city I haven’t been to before, I try to experience restaurants off the beaten track. This restaurant meets that criterion. As I was traveling alone this time, I was looking for a reasonably priced meal in a city where a steak could easily set you back $50.Open only a month and a half it is situated on Hammerstrasse two blocks from the tram line that runs up and down Clarastrasse. It is located in a very quiet residential neighborhood, on the ground floor of what looks like it could be a modern college dormitory. Inside and out, the restaurant is clean but not ostentatious or pretentious. The menu is in English and German.Being a Monday, the restaurant was empty save the chef and part-owner Raphael who that night served as host and waiter and who is exceedingly polite.I ordered the medium spicy Paneer Butter Masala and garlic naan and washed both down with an ice cold Feldschlossen, one of three beers on tap and which is locally brewed and wonderful. The rice was perfectly cooked, not dry or mushy, the naan was soft and moist and served hot and the curry Masala was exceptional though it wasn’t as spicy as I had expected. The bill for the naan, curry masala, a large and a small beer and a dessert Indian dumplings with vanilla ice cream garnished with mint leaves was just under $50 including tax.All in all, Fusion of Flavors was a great find and exceeded my expectations. If you or members of your party are into Asian and Indian, cuisine you must give it a try."
