"General My first visit. The Taj Mahal is a very appealing restaurant with Indian cuisine especially Punjabi, but also singhalesian and is located on the edge of the Bermuda triangle. It is highly recommended, despite some criticisms, which are mainly attributed to the service. Anyway, I'll go back soon when I meet friends with Bochum as Dortmunder. The restaurant is on the first floor, so not overlooked! The stairs are not very welcoming and I do not think there is an elevator; is therefore not accessible to disabled persons. Prices are not jealous of Indian restaurants, but are in a good relationship to performance. Operation When we arrived 13h, only a few tables 3 of 15 were occupied. We had four people reserved. There was only one service, but it was on the phone. When after 1 or 2 minutes no one showed up who gave us a table, we sat down and at the table where there was a preserved box. The second force was then added a little later. On average, I would have given the service 3.5 stars, namely 2 stars for European power and 5 stars for the extremely friendly, polite, attentive and helpful Asian staff. The latter speaks and understands German perfectly, the former has communication problems. All elements of the menu/drink card have numbers that you can simply order, but questions regarding preparation or special requests are only commented by the European employee in an inadequate and difficult way. As a problematic host I felt the long waiting period despite the demand almost 1h between starter and main food. Of course we did not succeed because the conversation was excellent; but I just don't think it's acceptable, especially since one of us had an afternoon appointment. The menu The selection of dishes is very extensive as in most Indian restaurants and could bring Newcomer to decision making. However, it is also very diverse, although the most important ingredients are similar in many cases, but the type of preparation and spices varies. Appetizer #51 of the map, vegetarian appetizer board for 2 persons and different dips, as well as Papadam € 13.00 We just wanted to start with a small bite to climb the time to the main dish; so I asked for an appetizer for three people. was not possible, either for 2 or for 4 persons; so we split the two plates into four. I do not get used to this inflexibility in restaurants with ethnic cuisine at all, especially because it is part of Papads, Samosas and Pakoras with dips that can be served in any number. Taste and quality are very good; recommended! Main dishes #149, special shrimp curry, roasted in butter, with fresh ginger, garlic and herbs, in Tandoori Masala sauce. Served with Batura. € 18.90 #85, Chicken Tikka Masala fried with fresh ginger in butter and Tandoori yogurt sauce, with Bombay potatoes and Laccha salad. € 16.50 #72, Beigan Thali, roasted eggplants with fresh ginger, garlic and cardamom in egg tomatoes Tamarind sauce. Served with Batura. € 14.90 #125, Gosht Khumbi beef roasted with mushrooms, garlic, ginger in coconut tomato sauce. With Batura. € 17.20 Beverages Sekt simple EUR 2,50, Selters 0,75l EUR 5,50, Mango Lassi 0.3l EUR 3,00 While in our group everyone chooses its main food themselves, but also let all taste or share, each r got a good feeling for the four dishes. For the sake of simplicity, I only come flat. All dishes Curries are actually tastefully independent and therefore very different. Everything is freshly dressed, wonderfully fenced and through and through delicious! The Basmati rice is pleasantly dry and granular. The house Bread Batura is delicate and tasty, is very suitable for taking dishes if you want to eat with your hand. I personally prefer Naan or Garlic Naan, which is not offered. I therefore do not suffer: . The dishes were ordered in sharpness between 1 and 3 of 6, which differ in sharpness only in nuances. The quality of food has put Manko into operation. The 5 stars stand for the high level of Taj Mahals among Indian restaurants, so they are relatively to see. Environment The furniture and decorations in the first main room are attractive Indian, not overloaded. The decoration in the second room is more tasteless. The furniture is black lacquered and also make an Indian impression. The chairs could be more comfortable, but did not make us break prematurely; After all, we stopped it almost 3 hours at noon. The atmosphere is pleasant and not too loud, although the first room had filled well in the second half of the afternoon. In this case, a paravent on both sides carries optically and acoustically approximately in the middle of the elongated space. All tables in the first room were very tidy covered. Cleanliness tables, chairs, glasses, cutlery very clean and well maintained! Toilets simple, but very clean."

"I came here with a friend who has been here a few times. It reminded me a lot of the takeaway Indian/Pakistani places you get in the UK. The food is made fresh while you wait, there are a handful of tables that you can sit at eat but most of their business takeaway. The offer other things than Indian/Pakistani food, mainly pizza and döner kebabs. We shared the Chicken Madras, which was very spicy as it should be, and Lamb Karahi, which was not as spicy as the Chicken Madras but also very good. We had one portion of rice and one naan. At the end we also had a pot of lovely milkly tea. The people working there were friendly, and there were very helpful in explaining what was in the food. You make your order at the counter and they will bring it to your table and you pay when you are done."
