"Little India is a small restaurant located across from the Woodley Park/Zoo metro stop that has been serving Adams Morgan since 1987. They tout the quality of their ‘Homestyle Indian Cooking’ Food- My girlfriend and I had the Samosas, Goat Curry, and Butter Chicken- all of which was scrumptious! The ingredients tasted very fresh and the sauces well-mixed with good flavor balance. Hot dishes are easily tailored to Medium, Hot, Very Hot, and Ridiculous. Portions are appropriate for the price and much pride is shown in the food. $3 Happy hour specials ALL WEEK LONG! Price- Pricing is very fair for the neighborhood and quality of food. Appetizers run between $3-$10, Entrees $7-1$7, and beer $3-$8. Atmosphere- Outdoor seating is available (and with this scenery- very recommended! and ample. Inside the restaurant is decorated to appear traditional. Traditional music plays in the background but during this visit was drowned out by a lone guitarist at the metro station. Personally, his music fit the mood better and was quite welcome! Service- The service was very good, although after we were done eating it took almost 30 minutes to receive our check. Otherwise the waiter was very helpful with recommendations and very personable. Parking- Good luck. This is DC and the best advice I can offer is bring a small car and find a street spot. The nearest parking garage (to my knowledge is on 17th ST up by the bars in Adams Morgan. Take the metro, or walk/bike if at all possible. Overall, Little India doesn’t set any benchmarks, but it makes for a delicious meal with great company in a cozy location. I would recommend it without hesitation."

"I just had an incredible Indian sandwich. Indian sandwich, you ask? Yes indeed! Before today, I had never even heard of one before, and my coworker Nora had not either. But nevertheless we went with Eric (who himself only just discovered Indian sandwiches a few weeks ago) to test out these innovations at Naan Beyond, a little hole-in-the-wall doing an AWESOME, line-out-the-door lunchtime business, near L St and Connecticut NW in DC. And yes, for these tikka sandwiches, they quite literally fill a fresh, pillowy, chewy, BIG piece of naan bread (the popular Indian flatbread you normally order with Indian curries) with a myriad of addictively delicious ingredients, tandoori style. Everything is marinated in fabulous Indian spices and then skewered and cooked in the large clay Indian oven, the Tandoor. The grilled taste is unbelievable. You can get marinated chicken, lamb, shrimp, paneer (homemade cheese), veggie (zucchini, mushroom, onion and eggplant grilled) or sheesh (shredded beef). I had chicken, which is supposedly marinated overnight – and boy does it taste like it. They were probably the most tender, juicy pieces of skewered chicken I have ever had, with an absolute explosion of amazing Indian herbal flavors. They pack the meat or vegetarian filling in very generously, but also still manage to add some really good accoutrements: a light cabbage slaw and tomatoes for some crunch and tang, and a choice of their hot chutney, mint chutney or mango chutney to drizzle on your sandwich. The chutney (I got mint with my chicken) really put me over the top. Again, flavors were central here with the chutney itself, but even more so in what flavors it was able to bring out in the contents of the sandwich. My one complaint was that I ran out of the chutney before I finished the sandwich and really wanted more for the last third, because each bite was so dreamily tasty. It is food like this that makes me happy, makes a workday go by more enjoyably, even make me want to devote the last 15 minutes of my lunch to telling as many hungry readers as I have where to find an ultimate sandwich and ultimate Indian tastes — all in one $6 sandwich. "Well.... I frequent this place regularly. Never had a bad experience until last night. I did a courtesy called to inform them that my side dish of chickens peas were bad. They smelled horrible and tasted spoiled. I have have enjoyed them on numerous occasions, so I know the profile. The employee claimed to go check. He came back and said, nothing was wrong with them. The chef used a new seasoning, (seasoning that smelled like blue cheese? it's okay to eat them? I'm like no, I will NOT eat them, they smell really bad and upset my stomach. This is a courtesy call, so you can avoid other customers from getting these spoiled, smelly chick peas. Why are you making excuses? Good bye.???? SMH!!"

"This is a great place to get an Indian thali in a fast food fashion. They have a set menu ang quantity cooked everyday and the restaurant closes once they sell out. So menu options are limited. The butter chicken and chicken Tikka Masala is pretty good. The chickpeas and aloo matar was decent. The palak paneer was very watery and bland and the Naan is not freshly made in tandoor. It's the store bought Naan that they just heat and serve. Because it's fast food there is no waiting time and the price point is pretty low for the amount of food you get. Definitely worth trying!"

"Perhaps the definition of value for money. Starting with the food quality, the butter chicken had good tomato flavor, generous portions and was not overcooked. Personally, I prefer mine a little richer but that may be personal taste. Moving to the sides the real star of the dish was the Chana. It is hard to describe, but the subtle spice and creaminess really hit the spot. Naan is maybe the one point where I think there could be some improvement, but the overall quality was very high. Coming back to value for money, the amount of food they give you is massive. I was not actually capable of finishing, so when they say its lunch for $11, is more accurately two lunches for $11. 4 Stars for food 1 for Value"
