"Lovely pub hidden off the main strip. Staff were incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable in their whisky collection with some great recommendations. And live music to top it off"

"A Stockbridge Gem!. I have been to Hamilton's a few times now and it never disappoints! It's a great place to come with a group of friends or as a couple, it caters to everyone. The staff are really friendly and welcoming and are always happy to recommend dishes and cocktails. My favourite main course is the fish stew, which comes with amazing home made bread, and for something to share, you can't go wrong with the nachos! My favourite cocktails on the list has to be the fabulous Clover Club I always have a great time at Hamilton's whether it's for lunch, dinner or drinks with friends. Five stars!"

"Every now again you get lucky when picking a restaurant that you've never been to. That definitely applies to our visit to Rancho in Edinburgh. Being the bank holiday weekend in August, after a Scotland Rugby game, and with the Festival still running too, I had tried booking other restaurants without luck before finding Rancho on Tripadvisor. It looked OK so I booked. When we got there the greeting was welcoming, service was excellent and oh my goodness the Rib Eye Steak (cooked medium) was succulent and absolutely full of flavour. There was a limited menu selection with it being a rugby match day which was slightly disappointing but it didn't really spoil the experience, and I'm glad we went. Definitely going to book again for our next visit."

"Oldest pub in Scotland 1516! Enjoyed a a few drinks.....we relished the thought of history attached. But must say service not great and hot chips we ordered not great...over done, hard and not seasoned at all. Add a bit more service and better food...and the experience will be all encompassing and magic!"

"I am aware that our geographic survey in all edinburgh is not entirely what it could be and will be from where we tend to spend most of our time. So when there was an opportunity to lunch in polwarth, I jumped by chance. for the first time the queen vicky had suggested the piecebox that sounded good to me. I had visited one because the nearby odds ends, and I heard good dinge about streat hawker in the polwarth tavern, but that is otherwise quite unexplored territory for me."

"Our daughter who is a frontline Healthcare worker in Edinburgh is currently off work due to illness. We are in Ireland and are unable to take care of her. Friends of hers in Australia made contact with THE BLUEBIRD CAFE in Edinburgh and ordered the...most wonderful brownies and scones and they also sent a caring note which was personally delivered to our daughter’s apartment by a wonderful lady from THE BLUEBIRD CAFE. Our daughter was stunned with this wonderful surprise and gesture and it was an emotional morning for her. This caring thought and service gave her a huge boost in her time of need. We are extremely grateful to know that a business will still go such a long way in the current climate to bring hope and help to some one who needed a little care and support during their time of need. Well done and a big thank you to BLUEBIRD CAFE."
