"In for a couple of beers and got a sandwich meal and chicken wings to go. The sandwich barely had anything in it and there were literally 15 fries. Chicken wings were good but the sandwich sucked and was on cheap white bread! Won't eat here again. Go for beer and don't eat!"

"Love the service and the extras such as the potato and the dessert. We both found the prime rib completely tasteless! Have been going once a year for our anniversary, and this was a big shock. Talked to a guy at work who said his wife had prime rib last week and it was also very bland. What has happened to Keg prime rib??"

"The Lion's Brewery, in the Huether Hotel is one of 3 eating venues in this Waterloo landmark. We hadn't been there in a while so we decided to have dinner prior to a performance in their Jazz Room. The Jazz Room has a limited menu, so we decided on the cozy Lion's Brewery venue. If you go during cooler months, don't site near the entrance as the draft is unpleasant. We were pleased to see the same server, whom we have seen for YEARS...was still with the Huether. After ordering wine...which was reasonably priced, we ordered an appetizer to share. The grilled calamari was good except for no seasoning in the calamari itself and the decision to cut up very small pieces of lemon with the rind still on and have it throughout the dish. Almost impossible to pick out and very bitter, between that and no seasoning it ruined what could have been a great dish. The calamari was cooked perfectly! The fish and chips had enough french fries for 3 plates and a wee piece of greasy fish on top. Plain mayo instead of tartar sauce was not a hit with my guest. I had the Green curry. It comes with only veggies unless you wish to pay extra for chicken. Veggies were sparse and the ones that were there were not cut properly. LONG pieces of pepper are not suitable here. You cannot use your fork or a spoon and get rice, sauce, and pepper all at once. As well, all I had on the plate was rice, sauce, some pepper strips and carrots(??) No pineapple...no other veggies...no nothing. Flavour was good, but come guys! The service was great, but I wouldn't eat here again based on this meal. Maybe that is why is was almost empty? Shame as it is a great atmosphere and wonderful service."

"An American 16 oz pint is $10.25. This is Uptown, beers tend to be priced cheaply for students. I guess they upped the price to keep them out.It's a nice venue except that beer price and that they don't sell meat."

"I always love going into a restaurant where the staff remembers you. This place has more than meets the eye. An unassuming curbside, with top notch food and a great outdoor seating area. They want you to be happy and the staff works very hard to make sure you are. If you are looking for a drink after work, or some good eats that won't break you, in a place where you can just be you, this vibrant little spot is a gem in the K-W area."

"Went here with a group after an outing. Promptly seated. Waitress was excellent. Made good recommendations, keep drinks filled, cleared table as required. Food was very tasty. I had the fish which was quite large with a nice size order of fries. Beer was good but colder would of been better. Overall great experience."
