"After we had visited the vegandale festival in chicago this summer, we were looking forward to visiting the vegandale district in toronto. Now, in contrast to what their website would have believed, there is no neighboring of vegan restaurants and vegandale itself is over blah. According to the name...the owners opened a few filials on this block in parkdale with the hope that they did it in vegans the primary restaurant, the vegandale brewery, served to feed it, it says is from a place called doomie’s and they also have an ice cream shop in the inner not your mother’s milk (or something like that). in contrast to the variety that the Vegandale Festival was in chicago, this menu was extremely limited to a few basic appetizers, burgers, chicken/weapon and a small handful of other items. the food we had was actually quite decent, the huh was surprisingly delicious for this non-vegan and so at least that was a plus. the ice was a disappointment, with a texture that wasn't even remote like ice, but rather like a dense impact cream. if they want to sell vegan, why not actually do vegan food like sorbets? that was one of the bizarre elements of this place a vegan restaurant that had no real vegan options on the menu, but vegan versions made by non-vegan food (e.g. burger, mac n' cheese, ice, philly cheesesteak). if they have been looking for excellent cooking with vegetables, they go to the caffe lola pink in montreal (and visually the place is very inconspicuous, and the neighbourhood is stubborn (proven to be hip, but not yet there or fail). really no reason to come here at all, unless they are looking for a good vegan version of a burger or chicken sandwich."

"My girlfriend and I ate here last weekend before attending a Leaf game. Our hotel was a few blocks away and we decided to try it out on our way to the game.The menu was exactly what you would expect to find at a pub. Burgers, wraps, finger foods, plenty of appetizers, mostly everything deep-fried. My girlfriend is a vegetarian and we were disappointed to find only one vegetarian option on the menu. Everything else had meat in it, unless you specifically asked for it without (example would be the two pasta dishes).The food itself was average. My burger was overcooked and hard, and my calamari was undercooked and the breading fell off anytime I picked it up. My girlfriend ordered a flatbread without meat and enjoyed her meal. She highly recommended the edamame to start as well.Since we ate here right before a Leaf game, there were plenty of people in there who had one too many. The atmosphere was loud, noisy, and just full of people who were half in the bag. Not a great place to go for a quiet evening. Not at all.Everything was way overpriced for the quality. Typical of downtown Toronto, but I'm quite positive there are places out there with better food for a better price.This would be a great place for people looking for a quick bite before a game, or just to grab a beer with some friends. I wouldn't recommend it for people looking to have a quiet, relaxing meal in a quiet environment. But for what it is, its ok."
