"The food was really brilliant, especially the Mutton Curry. We can have the perfect taste for food like South India. I love the place"

"I have lunched at Siddhartha several times over the last 6+ years. I have also been a takeout customer many times. It used to be my very favourite Indian restaurant and I found the butter chicken to be the best I had ever had. However...the last two or three times I have been there, I have found the food has degraded. The flavours are not as complex and fragrant, and the food is more watery in texture. This never was a place serving very hot food but it was always beautifully flavoured. I am sad to see this, I enjoyed many meals there"

"The food is amazing with finger licking flavor and taste. The food is fresh and promptly prepared for consumption. Lamb and Goat Curries are my favorite. Great options for vegetable dishes too. My favorite is Cauliflower and Okra. Small yet cozy atmosphere is comforting. Thanks...to Kailash, the Chef, for an amazing experience every time I visit."

"I got the butter chicken for take out and it’s literally just butter chicken there’s no rice or naan that comes with it. For $20, I expected something else. Also, they didn’t provide napkins or cutlery in the bag. However, their service when I arrived was very kind and I’m sure it’s a beautiful place to dine."

"I almost went right past Famous Indian when I noticed the word "Buffet". It also happens to be the same word incorrectly spelled as "Buffer" on the menu flyer.Spelling "buffet" as "buffer" is actually funny, but to me, it also has another meaning. This little restaurant can in fact, be a buffer, a resting space from the hot sun or winter chill; or Indian food in a pinch for someone with difficulty choosing from so many different eateries at Coxwell and Gerrard in Toronto. There are good and not-so-good things about this little restaurant with an all-day buffet. The hot food was actually tasty, with enough vegetarian varieties that ranked at par with most competitors. The meat dishes were also acceptable with curry sauces, boneless butter chicken, and braised lamb. There was also tandoori chicken even though I found it a bit dry.The buffet also had cold garnishes, salads, one variety of Indian dessert, and four flavors of ice-cream.These are the good things I remember. The not-so-good things started with the ginger ale that came in a glass when I would have wanted the entire can to do as I wished.Another small setback was the papadam that I asked for when its tray was empty at the buffet. But I was told the cook was on lunch break and could not make more papadam. Then halfway through my meal, the staff brought me bread when at most other restaurants, bread would have come much earlier.Lastly, I found the staff a bit slow in removing my plate when I went up for more food. Mostly young people, the staff's attention to customers seemed sporadic as if they were more interested in their texting devices than work. My suggestion is to interact more enthusiastically with customers than to stare at a mobile phone, especially if they want paying customers to recommend Famous Indian to others. So, that was my experience at Famous Indian Cuisine. For $12, the buffet I had was a buffer from a hot day.Thank you."

"Brought my wife and kids to eat here for the first time and am so happy we discovered this gem. Our server was great. Speedy service and attentive. We ordered the samosa's to start which were a tad spicy and very delicious. The green sauce and tamarind sauce were the best I've had by far from any all Indian restaurants I've visited. When it came to our entree's we had the option of how spicy we'd like each our dishes, which was perfect. I recommend medium hot. We ordered our servers suggestions and they were the perfect together creating a great variety of flavors. We had the Chicken Tika masala, Chicken Korma, Saag gosht (Beef, spinach ginger dish), Lamb bhuna and Channa masala. 2 orders of rice pulau were good for 6 of us. The dishes were large for sharing and prices were very decent. They should charge more for the great quality and generous portions. The server was happy to pack up our leftovers for my lunch tomorrow, which was nice. 5 stars all around. Will definitely be returning with our friends."
