"While checking out the colorful wall-mural and the river as well - in the adjacent locale about 1/2 km away - we were just coming across the bridge and we saw this restaurante-bar. It was a little after 1 pm, and the owner and his sons were just opening the doors and putting out the specials on the board outside. So, we all decided to go in and try the food and drinks. The owner had a a few specials posted outside, so we ordered the fish and shrimp tacos and the margarita special as well. WOW, were we surprised when he served us the cold margaritas served in the ice-cold glasses and the 3 HUGE tacos per plate served along a vegetable medley next to the tacos. Every thing that we had, was so good and we were so relaxed and comfortable - we even ordered another round of drinks as we sat and talked among ourselves as well as the restaurante owner too. We also watched some sports that the owner had on the TV screen above - and there was a dance music video-mix playing in the background too.The prices were nice and easy and a great compliment to the large portions of very tasty food along with the cold margarita drinks on such a hot day in June! If you can, be sure to check this sleeper restaurante bar out when in PV Centro - not far from the Three Hens and a Rooster building."

"The chefs know what they're doing! I started off with the beet salad which had a perfect texture with the honey, goat cheese, arugula and crumbs. The fish fillet was amazing. It was perfectly grilled and almost tasted like it had some kind of homemade zesty barbeque sauce on it. I would definitely have it many times over. My girlfriend had the fajitas de res. She loved it. I had a taste and the beef was tender, good cuts, salty but not too salty. Well done!"

"Wonderful experience, the owner Betty is very friendly and cheerful. Every morning we would have our authentic Mexican breakfast by the beautiful Rio Caule, listening to the water and watching the birds. Very relaxing start to the day. The food is delicious and plentiful and very reasonably priced. They will cook up anything you like. Betty loves to practise her English and will even teach u Spanish if u like. Highly recommend this hidden gem!"

"El Viejo Vallarta, o mejor dicho, el clásico Vallarta nos guarda lugares que ofrecen platillos exquisitos. El nombre del lugar me jaló, Quo Vadis, adonde vas. Pues ahí dirigí mis pasos. Los mariscos son su especialidad y ¡qué manera de prepararlos! De entrada un ceviche al estilo Sinaloa, con trozos de robálo y camarones, cocidos en jugo de naranja y limón y acompañados de una salsa pico de gallo. Después, goloso que soy, media docena de ostras frescas, a las cuales se les puede aderezar cilantro, cebolla y chile finamente picado, aceite de oliva, o salsa tabasco y salsa inglesa. Y remato con un sensacional pescado a las brasas, acompañado de arroz con ejotes y elote. Todo acompañado de cerveza artesanal. El servicio es, con todo y la cantidad de clientes que hay, esmerado y eficiente. Éste es un motivo más para darse una vuelta por el Viejo Vallarta y sentirse como rey."
