"The hotel staff are great super helpful. The location of the hotel is fantastic beach, shopping and I5 are all close. Hotel itself is just OK. Its very loud. As other reviews have indicated, the band on Fridays and Saturdays is so loud that one cannot watch TV in the room or even have a conversation. We were three floors up and still it was incredibly loud. Its a small area where they play, so no idea why it has to be that loud. On other nights, the pool area is rocking and rolling until late as people take in music and wifi speakers, so if you have little kids who need to sleep, it does not calm down until after 10pm. 10pm is a reasonable hour to close the pool, but most of the rooms are around the pool, so the blasting music is annoying. While we were staying, people were yelling and screaming every night outside until well after midnight. Marco Polo was popular. Apparently there were school soccer teams staying when we were here. The sound echoes around the hotel. Sadly, we will not be back because of the noise."

"West Steak and Seafood in Carlsbad, CA is THE place to go for quality steaks. The service is excellent and the servers are friendly and professional. I had the Filet Mignon and it was superb! Cooked just the way I asked for it. Paired with a glass of quality red wine it made for an excellent dinner. The sides were plentiful and very tasty. The ambiance is very comfortable; elegant but not stuffy. The dress code is business casual preferred. No shorts or flip flops allowed. I highly recommend West Steak and Seafood for a romantic dinner with the one you love!! I also recommend making reservations!"
