"We knew that dining and drinking in Paris was going to be a drain on our resources but we were hoping to find some take away with a few tables type places to eat. The Nam Chok is such a place. We found the place at 8pm and was disappointed to discover the place was stated to close by 8:30. However, the friendly French owner said it would not be a problem, and indeed another party arrived at the three table venue at nine, and they were welcome too.The friendly Thai chef tried out some words of English on us, and our host rustled us up a mixed starter of spring rolls, prawn patties and such like with a nice delicate sauce. For our mains we had red and green Thai curry and he added extra chilli for those of us that like it hot. The food wasn't particularly huge but we were pleasantly full with the addition of wonderful sticky rice. We also had a fruit salad for sweet, and as well as kiwi there were lychees which added an exotic touch. For 2.50 Euro for the sweet, you really couldn't go wrong. We also had a beerlaos and the restaurant also had Singa beer and another Thai beer on offer. In total our excellent Thai meal come in at 60 Euro including tip for the three of us. Believe me when I say a three course meal with a beer for 20 Euro is a true Paris bargain. Much recommended."
