"Tucked away in a little strip mall in Hazel Dell sits this unassuming market and cafe. A friend told me about this place when we were talking about charcuterie boards. She had mentioned that this cafe makes the boards and is also a great option for other foods. I had started following them on Facebook to see what they offered. C 'est la vie has a breakfast/linch menu that includes a wide variety of crepes; both savory and sweet, grilled cheese sandwiches, soup and salads. Homemade sodas, mimosas, lemonades and beer finish out the drink menu. The other portion of the space has a variety of fresh cheeses, bread from Grand Central Bakery and many prepped meals, all ready to go. The menu changes frequently and can generally be found on the restaurant 's Facebook page. Some of today 's specials were Greek chicken, gazpacho, Eggplant caprese bake, plum torte, and fra diavolo gnocchi with black sheep creamery fresh cheese. We sat down for lunch and ordered a elderflower drink to start. Definitely a unique flavor but fresh and herbal. The husband ordered a tuna salad with a cup of soup and I had the fondue which was a grilled cheese (Grand Central bread with Tillamook cheese) cut into cubes and prepped for dipping into the tomato basil bisque. My husband liked his salad and we were both pleased with the soup. It had a good flavor with a little more peppery spice than I expected. I didn 't feel the heat on my tongue but as I ate it more, the sweat definitely came out a bit. The sandwich was good but I think could definitely have used more cheese. I like to see that ooey, gooey pull of melted cheese on my grilled cheese. This was just a small amount of cheddar amongst thick bread. We finished with a fresh parfait which had raspberry cream cheese, raspberries, pound cake and a kind of marmalade on top. It was also very tasty altho I found the pound cake a bit heavy. Service here is great and the staff offered a lot of recommendations. I 'd like to come again to try some crepes! C 'est la vie also takes reservations which I found to be a great touch."
