"I went to this cafe on September 11 with my friend. My friend she was the fan of this restaurant’s fried chicken and she suggested us to have a dinner there. The night we went there the fried chicken was a disaster. It was not eatable at all. Neither I nor my friend could even have more than a bite. We let the waitress know about the taste but they didn’t accept our complaint and said the taste is as usual. That was my worst experience ever at a restaurant in Vancouver."

"It's very important that restaurants deliver wholesome and creative dishes to add value for their customers. Potluck Hawker Eatery delivers unique and flavourful dishes that are interesting and familiar. The vegetables aren't overcooked, the sauces aren't too sweet or too salty. Balanced and unique, I could eat here every week and walk away feeling healthy and satisfied. Loved the decorations and layout of seating. Great location and pleasant and friendly staff."

"Motonobu Udon is nothing short of exceptional! This Michelin-starred gem offers an authentic udon experience comparable to the best places in Japan. The prices are surprisingly reasonable, making it accessible for a wide range of diners. We tried both cold and hot udons, and each had their unique, intricate flavors and textures that wowed us. The side dishes were equally impressive, featuring fried burdock and squid that were cooked to perfection. The specialty udons are a must-try. Probably the top authentic udon shop in the lower mainland"

"Jinya ramen is one of the most popular ramen spots in Vancouver. Jinya ramen has a few locations but we went to the downtown location this time. As expected, it was a full-house when we arrived at 6pm on a weekend and despite the fact that it was zero Celsius, they forced us to stand OUTSIDE to wait! I was not about to wait outside for half an hour so we headed back into the mall and waited for their text to let us know our table was ready"

"My recent visit to Honey Salt left much to be desired. I was with a group of 5 friends, as a few of them wanted to try their desserts, specifically the Society 11 layer cake.The seating arrangement was inconvenient, with a small, awkwardly placed round table in the middle of a sofa and 3 arm chairs in the bar area. I don’t know if this was the specific reservation my friend made or just what we were given. Either way I had to hold my plate in my hand or on my lap much of the time. Thank goodness we were just there for dessert and not dinner (ironically we originally intended to do dinner here but couldn’t get a reservation before 9pm). It didn’t seem overly busy when we arrived so it is rather strange, but in hindsight sight I’m glad we didn’t have dinner here.The service was disappointingly slow, and essentials like cutlery wasn’t promptly provided and I had to ask for napkins.We opted to share an assortment of desserts, and overall I found the sweetness was overwhelming (though my friends seemed to enjoy it). The brookie was excessively sweet to me, while the tiramisu and apple cheesecake, though tasty and my favorite of the bunch, included an abundance of whipped cream. The Society 11 layer party cake was massive, also overly sweet and had an odd taste. I’d say the desserts were ok, but I wouldn’t choose to order any of them again.Paying the bill proved to be another ordeal, as splitting it took an unnecessarily long time. It didn’t seem like anyone knew how to work the computer. They did get all the splits correct though.This marks my second underwhelming experience at Honey Salt, and regrettably, I won't be returning even if my friends choose to."
