"Previous visits last year and earlier this year were excellent. Unfortunately our last visit on 18 February was disastrous.. The experience was spoiled for all of us by one waiter who ruined the experience with his thoroughly obnoxious attitude to everyone to whom he spoke, including ourselves. The other staff and the meal itself were up to the usual high standard but after being treated like this we won 't go back, nor will any of our local friends and acquaintances. After my last four visits to Bois Doree, I wrote to you to thank you for an enjoyable experience and wrote a 5* TripAdvisor report. Unfortunately our experience on Tuesday 18 February was appalling, due to the arrogance of one of your waiters, and as such I doubt if we or any of our friends or acquaintances will return to your restaurant. The meal was good although the service was slow. I ordered the set menu for €21.95 with cajun chicken as my main course, which I would have followed with a dessert. At no time after the main courses were we asked if we wanted coffee or desert. Eventually we asked for the bill which showed the price for the set menu. I mentioned to the waiter that I had only had the main course, no dessert,and would he please adjust the bill. He came back with a supercilious smirk on his face and said : Vous etes perdant, avec le plat et le vin ca vous fait 70 cents de plus. (Translation : You lose out, it 's 70 cents more). I mentioned that I thought this was an odd way of pricing, but my complaint is not about a handful of small change (50p), but about his unpleasant attitude and lack of commercial acumen. I paid by credit card, and asked if the manager was available as I wished to complain. He said he was the person in charge, as you were not there, I therefore told him I would be writing to you to complain, and that we would not be coming back due to his attitude. He was thoroughly unpleasant and unfortunately his attitude means I do not intend to return. Apart from him, we were served by a young lady and a young gentleman who were, as always, charming, but this older man who derides your clients is not suitable for a customer facing position. I would add that my wife thought he looked scruffy compared to your other employees. The reply I received was a perfunctory explanation rather than apology, the excuse being that due to staff holiday they had hire a temporary waiter, the one who was so objectionable towards us."
