"We had the best Sunday lunch here last week as a family. I could not fault the food tasty and refined (this is NOT a carvery! and the meat was cooked perfectly. They currently offer pork or beef and both are tender and cooked to perfection. The vegetables are very well thought out. No boiled veg here! It is delicious sticky red cabbage, garlic and rosemary roasties, mashed carrot and swede, honey glazed carrots, cauliflower cheese...and the gravy! There is also a veggie option and a dessert menu. The service is quick and friendly. So good, that we're going back today! Noticed they do a food menu Weds to Sat too."

"I had no lust on fish and chips, so I was above the moon to see the Samosa option on the menu tonight. two in a box with salat and a beautiful tamarind dimmer. the samosas were crispy outside and so delicious and filled with delicious filling. to a winner I would say. try it! Thank you. we are coming back for more!"

"There were 21 of us on a Pub Walk, starting from and finishing at The Slip prior to lunch. Was my first visit and certainly won 't be the last! Staff were delightful throughout and the food way above expectations, My wife is from Up North considers herself a fish 'n 'chip connoisseur and rated hers some of the best ever . My Veg Curry was truly excellent and all other dishes looked great as they came out. It 's not easy keeping so many Old Codgers satisfied but these guys did and then some Huge Thanks!!"

"No complaints on the fish- though the chips were quite greedy and not nice- left a horrible feeling and taste in my mouth. But I saw them drop a frozen sausage, picked it off the floor, then chucked it in the fryer. I'm afraid that is a big no no!"

"We have eaten here a few times since our last review but I think it is time to up date it...a year on ....Still great! We went as a family from age up, there was something for every one. Chicken nuggets for the youngest,...burgers looked lovely and thoroughly enjoyed! The carne pizza was delicious and big enough for us all to have a little taste! it was also Friday fish night so that included fish and chips and a bottle of wine for it was delicious and the so was the wine! They always have a selection of well kept local beers and you always get a warm welcome, it was busy with a great atmosphere. Definitely recommend for a reasonably priced but delicious evening out."
