"Friend took me here when I was back in town. The vibe felt sophisticated but laid back, I really like the clusters of soft spherical lights, and the wines and alcohol lining the walls behind the bar. The burger I got was rich and beefy, but the tapas I got (chorizo sausage) was just ok. The service was great in the sense that my glass of water was getting filled up every 5 minutes, but personally I found it a bit distracting."

"This is a great place to see how the buildings stood at the turn of the century. Renovated store front when corner stores were how families bought their goods. Its now a trendy little coffee shop with lovely outside seating and baked goods."

"My husband and I ordered the Bocconcini Tomato and Pesto Pizza and the Spicy Italian Sausage Pasta and we were not disappointed. The Pizza crust was perfect and the Pasta was excellent - reminds me of the food I had when we were in Italy. This place isn't fancy but if you want to get away from the touristy crowds, come visit this little cute place in Mt Pleasant. The owner will make you feel very welcome - just read the reviews on Yelp.ca. I have also heard that his Paninis for lunch are fabulous although I have yet to try one. By the way, my husband absolutely loves the cookies there. He's been back there three times in the last two weeks. You will have to goggle the place up because I think Trip Advisor listed this place in downtown Vancouver, which it isn't. There are also many funky stores along Main Street so if you want to experience a neighborhood of Vancouver, visit Main Street in Mt Pleasant and I promise you will be pleasantly surprised."

"I have been here a few times before and have never been disappointed. The food is always very good and service has been very good in the past. My husband and I decided to bring another couple here last night (their first time). As usual, the food was very good. We started with the coconut shrimp and roasted beet salad. Then two of us had the magic mushroom burger(with caramelized onions and fried mushrooms on top), both with buns. My friend and I wanted to try their new "bunless" burgers (no bun, made into a bowl). She had the magic mushroom and I had the Cider House Rules. Besides the meat and toppings from the burger which is presented on a bed of iceberg lettuce, the bowl includes tomato, avocado, hard boiled egg, yams, black beans and corn topped with mustard vinaigrette. It was plenty to eat and was all very tasty. My picture doesn't show it very well, because of us being in the sun.The service was good considering the restaurant was very busy. Our waitress did forget one of our drink orders though. Now the reason for three stars and not more. The restaurant faces the riverfront and it was built with a glassed front with floor to ceiling windows and a glass roof over the front end. There is a patio outside of it that has umbrellas and an inside area, when you first walk in, that isn't glassed. We have never been here on a hot day and when I made reservations, I didn't think to ask for the patio or inside area.Last night was a very hot evening and we were put in the glassed area. After a few minutes, we realized how uncomfortable we were getting and asked to be moved. We were told by several staff that we couldn't. Even with tables being emptied and there being several minutes before more guests came in, we were told that there was a wait list and it was impossible. We tried telling them we had reservations which you would think should override the wait list. So, there we sat and suffered for an hour. We were so glad to get out of there into the cooler outside area when we were finished eating. By the way, we weren't the only ones complaining. The restaurant really needs to improve their air conditioning or put up shades on the west side of the glassed area. They could also think of putting a floor fan on either the east or west side of the glassed area. In the future, when making reservations, I am going to make sure to mention NOT to sit us in the glassed area if there is a chance of a hot day in the weather forecast. Please make some changes to improve that area of the restaurant in the future."
