"After a few visits to this classic neighbourhood bar with one of the cheapest happy hours in town, I feel comfortable enough to give my view on this bistro. I train sales staff from a variety of backgrounds from all of France. In short, the attitude of Alex the manager, is the worst I 've experienced during my six years in France. The ambience has always been mixed here with groups that come after work and often have a positive disposition and some regulars. Last visit, my girlfriend and I arrived for some quick beers, before heading on into central Paris. The queue was around 7 or 8 people and they were replacing the tap of Pelforth (4€ HH) so it took some time. Normally I drink much quicker than my girlfriend so I buy two for me, but she doesn 't want to be left behind so she orders a second one as well. The time was 19h50 and happy hour finished in ten minutes. I get back to my table and a few minutes later, the manager comes to our table, cuts our conversation and ask if we are waiting for people. Thinking that he wanted a chair, or something like that, I say no. Then he continues his intensely agressive rant that explains how one drinks beer here , one at a time because he didn 't have enough glasses, that we had bad manners and were cheap, trying to save 4 euros. I felt that the situation was getting out of hand and might get physical, so I say that we didn 't know about this. He finishes by loudly declaring that we should have thought before, while being being surrounded by his local cohort of regulars. We leave the aforementioned second beer and find another place, never to return. This was not a case of snotty Parisian wait staff, this was pure intimidation by someone that treats their fellow man as less than human. I hope that you read this and if you decide to grab a beer here, that you never get this treatment. Alex, if you read this, please find a way to deal with your anger."

"We went to run out of paris for the day. we didn't want to have a long lunch, so we chose this brasserie near the main square. we didn't expect much, but that was probably the best lunch we had in france during this. we had already eaten in several brasseries in paris, but eating on this was so much better. we ordered the uefs mayonnaise, the chicken with cream sauce, and the tagliatelle pasta with salmon. the sauces were well prepared with a lot of fresh petersil. the pasta also seemed like freshly produced pasta. this was our first time that we tried the uefs mayonnaise, which was also very good. service was courteous and prompt. good prices also! if we find ourselves in rouen, we will definitely look for this brasserie!"
