"Habe Pfifferling-Omelette gegessen. Zuvor gab es selbstgebackenes Landbrot mit Olivenöl aus Italien. Das war vielleicht mal lecker! Das Hauptgericht wurde frisch zubereitet und schmeckte sehr gut. Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam, nach dem Essen kamen wir noch locker ins Gespräch. Zum Schluss wurden wir noch auf den Aussichtsturm geleitet, wo wir die Sicht auf Jena bei Nacht genießen konnten."

"A fantastic view! And a great place to have a 75th anniversary dinner! The menu had an asian touch blended into the local style of Thüringen. Very well arranged and prepared! We very much enjoyed the locally sourced red wine from Mr. Proppe!"

"Looking for a good restaurant, a baker recommended the tower restaurant Scala. Very good recommendation! With the elevator we are on the 28th floor of JenTower. What a wonderful view. At a height of 144.5m (with antenna tip 159.60m), it is the highest office building in the new Länder after official height (without technical structures). Source: Wikipedia We were kindly received and were assigned a table for 3 persons by a very nice waiter. There were only a few tables at noon, the majority was covered for the afternoon coffee season. Unlike the covered tables for coffee and cake, there were napkins at the lunch table. Genuine flowers and fabric napkins, the farm nurse immediately opens the gastro heart. Our selection of drinks fell on cyclists, gingerals and a carafe 0.2l Gutdel DQW dry from the Gussek Winery, SAALE – UNSTRUT. As appetizers we chose from the Scala Lunch menu 3 x marinated figs, Chevre blanc with field salad and walnuts. A friendly greeting came from the kitchen immediately. Due to my gluten and milk incompatibility, I was unfortunately not allowed to taste “the welcome”, but my companions found it very delicious. Ciabatta, olive oil, salt/peffer, butter and crushed mushrooms. The appetizers were served, very appetizingly prepared and beautifully decorated with a horn wedge. Unfortunately there were also goat cheese on my appetizer plate, and my incompatibility did not seem right to the waiter. No big drama, I could remove the Chevre blanc from the plate without contaminating the other ingredients with milk protein. The main dishes were served. 3 x fried groundwater trout fillet on a warm salad bed with mussel noodles. But before the record reached my place, the waiter remembered my incompatibility. Yeah, there was something... White foam and noodles milk protein and gluten! He apologized and I got a new dish that was served after a short time. This time without foam, but still with noodles. Since I already had an appetizer, I could leave the noodles on the plate and was still well saturated. The fillet was butter soft and delicious. A warm salad bed was new to me, and I found the slightly roasted romanate leaf very interesting. On request we received a pepper mill as we are all three pfefferish. Even though some seem crazy to spicy foods, the taste is actually increased. At the end we ordered espresso, double espresso and caffeine-free espresso. The latter, however, became a coffee. The service requires a small retraining. My espresso wasn't charged for the Fauxpas. The dishes were refined, the price ratio was very good and the view from the tower in Jena grandios. My recommendation! Aphorism of the day (day menu) “If you have eaten and drank, you will be born as new; stronger, braver, more skillful for your business.” Johann Wolfgang von Goethe"
