"Shirin is a small coffee and snack bar in Göttingen's city centre. The owner is more or less a talkative handyman, cooking and serving a small choice of tasty Persian dishes. He's trying his earnest to make you feel welcome, and linked to his efforts he'll prepare almost every dish vegan for you. All dishes come with plenty of fresh salad. There's a vegan yoghurt dressing, vegan falafel and delicious saffron rice. It might seem like a vegetarian kebab booth first, but it is rather a small restaurant, using healthy and fresh ingredients."

"We went on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was half full. The starters were excellent. However, the wait between our starters and main course was one and a half hours. 50 minutes into the wait, we asked whether our main courses had been forgotten....We were told they were not, and the main courses will be served sofort (immediately). We were told by the waitress that it was normal to wait 2 hours for main courses because there was a small kitchen. Overall the food was excellent, but the long wait between the courses killed the appetite. Prices are also expensive for a university town (EUR22 for a main course)."
