"I drove by this place every day for a week before I gave it a try. It's a local place on a corner and it looks really authentic. And it is. First, the smell draws you in. As they cook/grill the pork and chicken, the smell is like an incredible backyard BBQ. It permeates the neighborhood as the smoke billows in the air. We elected to try a half kg of the pork for my wife and me. I stink at math and forgot that that's more than a pound of meat for the two of us, but we managed. It came with tortillas, rice, and beans, and then a number of ways to sauce it up. That was all nice, but my favorite way to enjoy the food was to pick up pieces and just eat them without anything on them. It's just that good. And as for the wait staff, they were incredibly helpful, working their way through my broken (really broken) Spanish so that we got what we wanted. They checked on us continually throughout the meal, so any comments about rude staff must have this place confused with somewhere else. They seemed to do a ton of takeout and delivery. There were stacks of filled to-go containers at the counter and the delivery guys were really busy. Try it. It's amazing."

"The best restaurant in Playa Norte!! We went there 3 days in a row and had delicious appetizers (ceviche, octopus) and dinners (tuna steak, octopus, red snapper curry, mahache shrimp). The octopus is AMAZING, cooked so well and soooo flavorful. And they have lots of delicious craft beers and cocktails! I got pisco sours and margaritas but they had so many other great options. The staff is amazing, we will miss them!! Melania was so wonderful and gave us lots of great recommendations. Carlos was also great! And Johnny was awesome- he helped me pick out some beautiful artwork and jewelry from the shop inside. Everything is handmade from local artists! At night they had live music, as well! A mixture of jazz, salsa, top 40, etc. You must come here!! The prices are reasonable, the quality of the food is FANTASTIC, and the staff and service is exceptional!! Thank you to Mario, Melania, Johnny, Carlos, and everyone else. We had sooo much fun! Can't wait until the next time we come back!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"Mmmm I have eaten here twice now and both times the food has been amazing. The owners are so nice and friendly. And speak a little English plus always have a big smile on their face. They also have a whole buffet line of toppings/sauces to put on your food. I like the avocado and salsa. Place is cleaned and food is cooked fresh! This is a Dimond in the ruff that one should try to local Mexican meals."
