"My needs in a fish and chip shop are simple. Delicious but not perfect food. Comfortable seating with a view of people walking by. Friendly but not obsequious service.<br/ <br/ Salt Water Fish Chips did all of that for me today on my first visit and I've tried others in the area.<br/ <br/ The steamed dim sim had a thick, moist skin and wasn't overcooked another place nearby served me a mushy dim sim they should have discarded, which is bad economy because I won't go back to that place again. And it tasted good, but not perfect.<br/ <br/ The hamburger (the lot minus bacon which I didn't want today had tasty buns, held together and didn't fall apart on first contact, and tasted good, but not perfect.<br/ <br/ There are plenty of nice wooden chairs and tables. Not the plastic don't stay too long chairs you see elsewhere.<br/ <br/ And the guy who made the hamburger was friendly and didn't arrogantly plonk the food on the counter for me to collect. Quite a refreshing change from the low standard many fish and chip shops seem to aspire (could despire be made a word? down to.<br/ <br/ And the view out the window? Satisfying is all I'll say."

"Consistently very good. There are two aspects of F&C joints that I think are underrated:<br/ 1. Consistency<br/ 2. Choice of hamburger bun.<br/ <br/ Valley Seafood comes up with a gold star on both of these which puts it in stark contrast to other places. I've been buying from these guys for about six or seven years now and I've never had a complaint with their food (although once a small tub of tomato sauce was past use by date).<br/ <br/ They also have a good handle on the hamburger bun I don't know where they get them from, but the buns they use are an excellent choice. They're not crusty but they hold together even when some moisture from the burger contents starts to affect the bread which is not all that common in my experience.<br/ <br/ I drive past about four other places in order to get my F&C from Valley Seafood it's probably the best in the area. Highly recommended."

"Hit and Miss. I've been here numerous times and I find that they're a bit of a hit and miss. <br/ <br/ I always get grilled fish and some days it's really fresh with great seasoning and some days it's really dry and tasteless. <br/ <br/ I do like their chips lots especially with the chicken salt. <br/ <br/ The staff behind the counter aren't very friendly. A smile wouldn't hurt!"
