"It was a shame that on a Friday night they had run out of the Mussels and the Venison. Meal was very enjoyable, biggest issue was the cost of the wine. A£10 voucher brought our bottle down to £23 but it was still very expensive in our opinion. Rated the food and the service was good, would use again"

"Excellent restaurant located in the centre of Edinburgh. We were looking for a quite restaurant to have breakfast but everywhere we tried was fully booked and we didn't think to make a reservation in advance but by chance we stumbled upon Cau which looks lovely inside and out. We decided to try Cau as it wasn't full of people. The menu was surprisingly very reasonably priced and everything on the menu sounded great. I decided to go for the ultimate steak sandwich, it was the best decision I could have made as this was the best steak sandwich I have ever tried the steak was cooked perfectly and so tender. The sweet potato fries were also perfect and everything tasted fantastic. The servers were also her pleasant. 10/10 would definitely go again."

"This is a beautiful restaurant for a fast bite, they have great burgers and ribs. what I was really worried was the way she treated my daughter crazy-allergic. the waitress even saw the ingredients and allergy information for the burgerbrot. great service and at a reasonable price."

"Dined there on our first night in Edinburgh, after long drive up we felt it would be perfect to eat there and explore more the following days. It was absolutely delightful, the food was immaculately presented, fresh, flavoursome and out if this world, It was sparsely populated with most people in there enjoying a nice cocktail and a pint of Innes and Gunn. I would highly recommend the restaurant, I had the Prix Fixe menu with haggis spring rolls. cod loin and chocolate fondant. It was all incredible. Just one word of warning, the wife had a cocktail that nearly knocked her socks off, they are potent and full of booze."
