"Had a lovely post Christmas lunch with my mum and aunt on a quiet wet Monday. Always a friendly welcome, very good service from all staff and delicious food. In fact generous portions for a lunch menu. It was quiet with only a couple of other tables in use but with the laid back music it made for a nice long relaxing lunch for us all to catch up after the festive season, with no one trying to rush us out the door."

"Excellent, myself and my wife just had two fillet steak meals, both were cooked to perfection with a side of onion rings which were also terrific. Followed by two coffees, brilliant meal, will definitely be back. Staff were very friendly and always had a smile."

"Great variety of burgers. Good quality very meaty. Don't bother ordering the chips, you don't get many the burger is very filling. Delicious milkshakes served on old fashioned glass milkbottles."

"I don’t like to write bad reviews but this time is an exception as the stay in the hotel was so bad. I usually like hotels in old buildings but this one really needs to be renovated. Very old rooms: bed smell, weak windows, no wifi connection, old carpet floor, broken walls…. When I told the reception guy during late evening that my room had a really strange smell, his only comment was “oh really”. We had to ask 5 !! times if we could get a new key card to enter the room, as the card was never working. This can’t happen in a 4 star hotel. Really bad value for money: we spent 250£ per night!! For this price I expect a much better construction and service. The only good part was the breakfast. I would not recommend this hotel, for us it was a waste of money."
