"They open at 5pm, nothing ready before 6pm.A lovely lady received us and we thought despite the dirty look of the place, this would be an awesome experience. The "waitress" that came to the table after was unbelievable. Chewing gum all over, filthiest clothes in Iquitos. She was smiley though. Kitchen doesn't seem to be hygienic at all. We still had hope for the taste of the food... Just crap.It's a shame having wasted all that time and the trip all the way there."

"I ate breakfast at Maria's many times over the course of my two months in Iquitos and it was always fresh, hot, and good. The scrambled eggs are made with tomato and onion, which is a nice addition and the fruit salad is excellent, even though almost half of it is papaya. Maria's is open a little earlier than most restaurants, isn't usually very crowded, and is just a block away from the Plaza de Armas. Definitely recommended!"
