"Me and the missus came to the Barley Mow for a night away last week and were absolutely blown away. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were greeted and shown to our room by Toby and then catered to by manager Will later that evening. The somewhat eccentric but extremely friendly bar man completely made the stay for us. The room was spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed and fantastic view from the window. Our evening meal was exceptional, good quality food and good portion sizes (especially for the price! . Some of the chefs even took the time to speak to us about their menu, after their shift, which added to our experience. The Barley Mow is a great little country pub with great rooms, great scenery, great food and incredible service. We will be back!"

"Not very after tonight performance from staff and food. I’ve been tonight for a family meal for Mother’s Day and the food has been disgusting and rubbish and the staff attitude has been so appalling started getting angry towards us for no reason I will not be going back I’m very disappointed"

"Mostly good have had take away from here a few times, like the korma, worth a try if you've never been. Also love their peshwari naan highly recommend it if you like sweet coconut, however I haven't really tried much else. I don't recommend the chips though they're rubbish"

"We had been recommended by friends in the village to go here. We were shown to our table, and given the menus. In a way I'm glad I didn't go for a starter, as the main was so filling. Drinks orders were taken. Mine was a Beef Shin with tagliatelle. Others had a curry. The chunks of beef were large bitesize, and absolutely gorgeous. Sauce matched, and the whole thing really filled you up. 4 beers were available on tap, that I saw. A Timothy Taylor's (NOT Landlord, but another of their range), an Oakam Ale from Rutland and 2 others I forget which. Staff were great, I think we must have been checked on about 5-6 times over the meal and preamble. If I was in the area again, I'd definitely go back."

"We had the wild mushroom starter which was great. The main meal was supposed to be cheese and onion pie but it wasn’t even recognisable, lots of sloppy filling and a bit of crust edge floating on it. The chips were very dark and not nice and the mushy peas were almost cold. My husband’s steak pie meal was cold and was sent back. It was very disappointing for us as this is a local pub and we have been put off eating here now."
