"Updated review from February 2022: I visited the Beast Next Door during a week's Happy Hour with some friends. I have beer and oysters. Beer was good. Oysters was okay, it's a good value, but I didn't like the oyster meat to be decomposed from the shell. Usually, if you get oysters, you would use this small fork to release the meat from the peel, the meat has already been dissolved on all 6 of them. Didn't give me the impression that they were so fresh. I guess I can't complain because it's cheap, but I've eaten many oysters in my life and never experienced it."

"Went there for dinner with 7 family members. Server brought water then disappeared to the point we had to ask another one to find her. We ordered drinks but she never brought my sister in law’s Woodford’s on the rocks and we found out from another server that they were out of it. My wife’s Mediterranean bowl was nothing but some arugula and feta which she sent back. The other food was pretty good, lots ot TV’s but the service killed the experience."

"Amazing fresh sushi as usual! And always delicious! Best sushi in Baton Rouge, in my opinion. Loves the New Orleans location. Never fish! Great staff, too. Our waiter was very efficient for a party of nine."

"Terrible lobster bisque, which tasted like flour salt and calamari, was not good. the most important escape was just ok. the bench is old with indentations in kissen and uncomfortable. the it area is obsolete with old decor and lights. they put it in just the bar area."

"The restaurant was quite cold when we arrived, but it did warm up when they put the heat on. I think the prices here are a bit high, but the views are wonderful from every seat in the main dining room. I have been coming to my parents house on the lake for years and The Dock has the best views of any restaurant in the area. Excellent lobster bisque!"

"The server was friendly, staff was friendly as well. However, it was a few hour wait for our food and the place did not seem that busy. Busy or not, with grandparents and a hungry 5 year old, this wasn’t fun. I think the part that got me to write my first ever review is that there was never an apology for the couple hour wait. I found that disrespectful. They were quick to give us the check though! I had to take my food home. Three stars for the cute place! Parking can be horrendous if it’s busy, then you need to park on the street."

"They've started charging a cover fee just to sit down and eat? This place is just like any other sports bar around. Would be more justifiable if there was a big game going on but just to sit down and eat? We've been going there on and off for the past few years and the food isn't bad. Sometimes service is spotty depending on the night which can be understandable, but nothing about this place justifies the extra charge just to eat."
