"We had sopes with chicken plus fresh orange juice, a fresh fruit cup and coffee for about $4 USD. Have heard their enchiladas are also quite good. Service was a bit slow but food was cooked to order so perhaps the reason. Closes late afternoon. Worth a try if you tire of Juan's. A bit less costly and not quite as sophisticated. They do serve the orange juice in a glass for the reviewer who panned Juan's for serving their eight ounces in a plastic cup."

"Stopped in this modest looking place on the Ancha when our destination restaurant was closed. Lucky for us! We were served a lemongrass tea, fresh bread with herb butter, and a wonderful stacked salad before we could unfold our servilletas by a sweet and attentive...staff. Maria offers a fixed menu with options that changes everyday. Second course was a very flavorful cream of vegetable soup, which I followed with chicken in a guajilla orange juice sauce, while my vegetarian wife had enmoladas in homemade mole, por supuesto. Dessert was a creamy rice pudding with cinnamon and sugar cookies chased by Mexican coffee with molasses. Gourmet food at tipico prices! Rick Bayless would definitely approve! Going back tomorrow to see what Maria's cooking. Open Wednesday thru Sunday, to so plan accordingly. ¡Provecho!"

The food is amazing and the prices are cheap. If you come to...San Miguel you must try this place. They are only open Friday and Saturday 9-2 and Sunday 9-3."

I get used to london restaurants, but that was extraordinary. four course lunches that were so delicious, but what really impressed me is the combination of the taste with. what I saw on my teller. "I don't understand reviewers that rave on and on about a place and then rate it a 3 or a 4 because it isn't fine dining. This doesn't make sense at all! I want to be able to scan through the top 20 restaurants and find the best of every category. So, with that in mind, here are my observations. Breakfast: The food is the best part. I have been here for breakfast twice. The first time I ordered Huevos San Miguel, and the second time for Huevos Del Sol. Both plates tasted authentic and delicious. Both had plenty of sauce, which I happily sopped up with the bread from my bread basket. The chile sauce on the table was delicious. Coffee: Most restaurants of this category only have instant coffee. This place has an espresso machine, which in my mind is a big plus. The coffee, however was just ok, but still a great value. This is not a fancy coffee shop. Juice: my glass of freshly squeezed orange juice hit the spot. Price: cheap. My plate, two cups of coffee and fresh OJ was $98 pesos ($5.30US at today's exchange rate) Restaurant category: Diner (or Mexican equivalent). As such, they hit the mark. I will be back."

"Near our hotel, and we happened to pass it. Very nice interior (courtyard and 2nd level Generous and VERY attractive breakfast. Good flavor and nicely plated. Inexpensive. MORE than worth the cost. They serve lunch (and dinner? too. Menu in Spanish, but 'steamlined ' enough so...that even a non speaker (like myself was able to navigate it. Staff very helpful. I was quite impressed."

"This four table restaurant opened in early February and the chef serves authentic meals from his state of Chiapas which boarder Guatemala. The mole is the best I've had. Try the pork tostada. It is served with what appears to be pickled onions that compliment it perfectly. Dessert was either orange cake or chocolate with strawberry and kiwi. The decor is very simple but they have put their heart into their food. Heading down the hill on Conde de la Canal, it is on your left hand side. So small, it's easy to miss. Don't!"
