"Stayed at the hotel this past weekend for two nights and ate here both times. Had attempted to go next door to The Honest Lawyer, but it was dirty, very poor service even though not many people in it - went back to Chagalls because we were happy with their service the night before. Selection was diverse and food was in generous portions and for a good price. It came out quickly and hot. Stephanie was wonderful - very attentive, friendly and fast. We were surprised with how good it was as we have had bad experiences eating in hotel restaurants before. Would definitely go back, even just to eat without staying in the hotel."

"I bought a $20 Groupon for $12 to try this boil seafood concept and was very disappointed by the end. The bags that are dropped on your table with the most expensive crab I've ever had in side just held a grease that was supposed to be seasoning inside so after minutes the crab (which was rubbery) just tasted greasy. At $24 a pound of snow crab we could have had all you can eat at a dozen other restaurants! My sides never arrived and my wife side of potatoes weren't cooked through and then they weren't removed when the bill came! The staff were quick to admit the price is very high and really did little to convince me to ever return. Never again this was an absolute waste of time, energy and money!"

"This is by far the BEST sushi restaurant in all Hamilton and area; the service and staff is excellent, never a let down or a bad experience. The food is very good; you can notice its very fresh and made with dedication. We love especially the ocean maki roll and the grilled mussels. They have a very wide menu with everything from udon and tepanyaki items such as black pepper steak, grilled shrimps and more, to sushi and rolls of all kinds, including even Thai food! Their tablet order system is very convenient and easy to use. This restaurant is perfectly comparable to other restaurants in the area who are much more expensive and don't even have the same level of service. More people should check this place out, they would be surprised! Very cool atmosphere too, an absolute ten to me."

"This place was a favorite at a time and we often went. Then we stopped going because it wasn't so great. In the autumn of 2022 it tried again and had a really nice meal of salmon/beet/pear salad) so I thought it was ok...again. No. This time it was terrible. Not very clean. Booths now jammed together unhappyly to accommodate a “store”. Stingy Food servings. Bathroom without toilet paper and soap dispenser were both empty, had to add water to the pump bottle and shake to get enough soap to wash my hands). Omg. Server was nice and very pleasant, but it was definitely not a reflection on kitchen. The food took forever, even though there were only 6 males and most only drink at the bar. My very hungry vegetarian friend fought to find something on the menu. Finally on a cheese pizza. They had nothing to do with it, so he asked Basilikum as a topping. came with a small basil leaf. The pizza was small. Still starved a second pizza and asked for LOTS from Basilikum. Four leaves. I ordered the 1/2 price wing Reg $17) I remember were generous in the past. There were 7 little wings. Meh in taste. No carrots. Some celery that was not fresh and blue cheese that was liquid and runny as it was watered down. It was so small I ordered a second portion, but hesitant about the time it took for the first. When I finished the first 7 wings, I didn't eat the rest because they weren't very tasty at all. They came home, but they were worse the next day. $70 for this food and some soda water. with a good tip, it wasn't her fault) I don't know what happened, but it has to be repaired. Don't think I'll try again until I hear things are better. So many great restaurants in the city now."

"Since moving to the Hamilton area a number of years ago, we'd been waiting for a place like Two Black Sheep to open.Small, relaxed, a bit chaotic at prime time but always friendly and welcoming. The oysters are fresh and well presented. Yes, the everyday buck-and-a bit-a-shuck is a treat but there's always a half-dozen or so other varieties to explore and choose from.We haven't tried the charcuterie but the cheese plates are comparable to anything we've had elsewhere. There's always a varied offering of cheeses to choose from and if you need some help, just ask. These guys know their cheese!The wine list is small but covers all bases and that's all you really need. I'm a red drinker but the Kim Crawford Sauv Blanc pairs perfectly with the oysters. Didn't try any beer - like the wine, the list is small but seems to cover all tastes.We've been a couple of times and the wait was worth it. Now, can't wait to try the Two Black Sheep Snack Bar on Ottawa Street!"

"Food was great. Wonderful server. Only thing wrong was we had invited a few older friends to have lunch with us and we were given a table with benches, nothing to support their backs. We asked for another table as they would not be able to have their brunch comfortably without regular chairs with back support. We waited for a table, but even though the party had paid, they were not ready to leave the table they wanted to give us. We finally asked for two tables to be push together so we could go on with our lunch. Next time, ask for a table with regular chairs when we make our reservation"

"Had a wonderful meal on her terrace tonight. We started with her pig belly and garlic knot. The pig bell was incredible and the knots were great. Then we enjoyed the Diplo Burger and the salmon. The burger was huge and tasty and the salmon was the best I had for a long time. The service was also fast and friendly. We will definitely return!"
