"Porky's Takeaways in Hokitika would seriously have to have some of the best fish and chips in NZ, maybe on the entire planet. The selection of fish is superb but the chips are out of this world, Chunky, crispy spud chips just like mother used to make, cooked in real-deal fat so there's no foul oil taste to worry about. So even if you are health conscious it's worth it every once in a while to let loose and Porky's is definitely the place to do it, I mean, aren't fish and chips just the perfect delivery vehicle for a good dose of salt ?? Service is friendly and efficient and you would have to be a negative whining whinging nitpicker to find fault here. The shop is clean and neat, super-well presented and they have the most amazing signs and menu boards, all done in the old fashioned style, clearly done by a sign writer who must be extremely talented, truly amazing and worth taking your camera. Enjoy."
