"We dined here on a Saturday night - a group of 6 friends, all of us seasoned restaurant goers. We booked months in advance which, I think, is necessary to secure a table here.From beginning to end this was a flawless dinner. The room (previously Rockpool) has lovely ambience and our table ( in the front section) felt like we were in a private dining room. We really appreciated being able to have a conversation through dinner without battling noise levels. The service was outstanding - somewhat formal in keeping with this being a training venue - and didn't cut any fine dining corners. Our 3 course dinner was perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, interesting menu options, generous servings, great value. Excellent wine and beverage list. All 3 men in our party had the trifle for desert which they agreed was the best they'd ever had. A great experience all round and heartening to see such a high standard being set (and maintained). We all hope to return!"

"Had lunch there recently. Good, pleasant service and big portions! We went for individual plates rather than sharing, though shared a flat bread and hummus (which was good) before the main. Two minor quibbles, when asked about an ingredient I would expect the waitstaff at a place of this calibre to offer to go and ask if they didn't know. I had to ask her to ask, which she did willingly, just surprised I needed to ask. My companions had the beef and the spatchcock and they were both excellent. I went for the macaroni and cheese which was fine, but a tad overcooked. Good lunch though and I would happily go there again."

"What can one expect from the Shangri la other than excellence. This goes for the coffee as well as their super sweets & deserts. Only had time to grab a quick coffee as we rushed out the door though as we had just had a great breakfast upstairs in the Horizon Club earlier"
