"I was very disappointed when I took my relative to Kinkao Thai Resturant who have taken over from Elephant Royale. When we called to book a table the lady that answered the call was hesitant with giving out her name found her rude with no customer service skills. I only came to eat here as the views are amazing and hoping the quality of the Thai dishes would be the same as Elephant Royale. When we ordered the starters and main the food was awful not even worth the money we paid nearly £80. The service was poor we were waiting a while for our food to arrive. The waiters don’t even come over to the table to see if your enjoying your meal. I was disappointed anyway when Elephant Royale closed down both their restaurants it’s a real shame. As Elephant Royale was one of the finest Thai restaurants and good quality food where me and my friends, family would go out and eat on a regular basis"

"Extremely disappointing experience. Firstly, the decor. The restaurant is now part of the same space as Gallipoli as they have knocked the wall down....and extended the Gallipoli furniture into the space. Totally weird and spoils the Thai vibe. Secondly, the wine. One choice of a Rose ' which was flat and dull. Whoever chose it is not a wine drinker. Thirdly the food. We had 3 starters. 2 arrived cold. The dumplings were tepid and solid so we sent them back. The filling was also lacking in seasoning and could 've done with a dipping sauce soy chinese vinegar or whatever. Too stodgy....although the crispy garlic and chilli that came with it was nice. The fried chicken was pretty nice and did come hot but the Malaysian squid was hugely disappointing. The sauce with it was supposed to be ginger, garlic, soy honey. There was hardly any of it and there was no soy in there whatsoever. It wasn 't even honey-coloured....it was practically clear so unlikely to contain soy. Our main course we chose the sliced beef steak on a slaw salad which although tasted good, was tepid and went properly cold very quickly. The noodle was Pad See Ew with prawn. Super sickly sweet with no greens (which I 've had countless times in other versions of this dish). The noodles were super fat and gluggy.....turns out they were all stuck together, I peeled 4 levels of noodle apart so no wonder it seemed like that. This was supposed to be a special meal for my birthday but it was worse than average and we won 't be returning. Up your game guys....or stick to your Gallipoli menu. Time Out put it in their top Thai 's in London which is how we found it. Will not rely on their reviews again that 's for sure!"

"I'm a regular to this place and can recommend it. I find the previous comment unfair. I know my Thai food as I spent a year there.My favourite dish is the papaya salad with grilled chicken and sticky rice. It's a common misconception that the papaya in this dish is orange. Any Thai person would tell you the type used is the un-ripened type hard, firm and crunchy in texture. It's actually not orange at all, but a very pale green colour. The rice served with this dish should be sticky, traditionally it's eaten using your hands."
