"Not so keen on the house special satay this time. Not that it was bad, just not for me. Pancake rolls are superb though. Wife also raves about the chicken in lemon sauce, recommended by another reviewer."

"We have been using this local take away for the last 15 years, if not longer and this was by far the worst take away they have ever produced. I am sure I am not alone here, but on Friday evening, when you 've had a long day working in London, you dont want to cook and are starving, you will eat anything well almost)! My husband and I ordered chicken chop suey, a pancake roll, chicken sweet sour balls and mushroom foo yung. Chicken chop suey was literally grey in colour when we opened the carton and comprised of just chicken and beansprouts no other ingredients at all and totally bland) in fact the entire meal was totally bland, even the spring roll was not seasoned and soggy. We persevered as we were hungry and this was a mistake it should have all been binned. We called the 'restaurant ' with our complaint and I was hit with a barrage of shouting in Chinese, the girl on the phone trying to translate and an older woman screaming at her. Eventually the woman came on the phone and told me the food was fresh, then just shouted at me. So I informed her I would be calling in for a refund she offered me a credit note, but I refused this, When we showed up for our refund today, she again started to shout at me and tried to offer me a refund for just the chop suey. Eventually she gave in and we walked away with a refund. The whole set up is shocking and has really gone down hill no customer service unless you want to be shouted at! Maybe they are trying to behave like Wong Keis in Soho, by being rude to their customers, but at least there, the food is amazing! Sadly we will now get out take aways elsewhere and tell all of our friends to avoid them like the plague."

"I’ve been here several times over the years and have generally been happy with the quality of the food. However, this was not the case on this visit. I ordered the large breakfast and my children went for smaller ones. When they came out, although the number of food items were more on the large breakfast, the portion sizes of the individual elements were smaller (1 tinned tomato and a small spoonful of beans on the large but 2 tomatoes and a huge scoop of beans on the smaller plates). Also the promised soda bread didn’t arrive and I had to ask for it. It definitely wasn’t worth paying to go large. But most disappointing was the quality of the food, the sausages were horrible, they certainly didn’t contain much meat and left an unpleasant aftertaste. I’m sure on previous visit, the sausages were a higher quality. The boxty pancake was limp, luke warm and tasteless and the bacon cold and flabby. The highlight were the fried eggs which were cooked to perfection but one did come out a few minutes after the rest of the breakfast. The soda bread when it arrived was nice. I had hoped to order a second cup of tea but the server was too busy to check on us. On reflection, I can’t imagine we’ll go back when there are other establishments that serve much better food. I wonder if Jolly’s has had it’s day!!"

"Sadly a good visit ruined by the rude manager. When we arrived we asked if we could have an extra chair we had booked for 4 but were 5 on arrival. She said they didn’t have any extra chairs understood it was my fault for only booking 4. We had two children with us so we said they could share one chair she wasn’t happy about this but let us in. As we sat the table next to us offered a spare chair which we gladly took the manager then came over and proceeded to tell me ‘I already told you that you can’t have a chair when that table leaves the next party needs that chair’. We said we understood and that we would give the chair back as soon as the next party arrives. They never did we had eaten paid and left before anyone else sat at the table. There were also 4 empty tables behind us with plenty of spare chairs so we are unsure why she was being so rude and unhelpful. She really wasn’t pleasant. When we left I tried to speak to her to explain how uncomfortable she’d made us feel and that there are ways to communicate things that get your point across without being rude. I also asked why she didn’t want us to have an extra chair when so many where available. To which she responded ‘the occupancy of my restaurant has nothing to do with you!’ I told her how disappointing her attitude was and that I would probably email head office to which she responded ‘go for it they won’t care’. Our waitress was lovely as was our food so it’s such a shame the manager was so rude, angry and unwelcoming I know she said she doesn’t care but surly it’s her job to care. Maybe she was having a bad day but it’s not the fault of the customer…"

"So cool, a fully vegan pub! we had the butter tofu curry and it was delicious! for dessert we had the Biscoff cheese cake and the traditional hot chocolate. both so good! the staff was very friendly, we did not book and it was packed, but they found a place for us anyway. we would definitely recommend this place. the best: they support the local, vegan animal sanctuary updated by previous review on 2022-07-30"
