"Here with the family after a walk in banstead woods. we just wanted a quick drink, but after we were sitting on a table for minutes and ignored, I went into the bar just to say abruptly that it was just sitting service. The...Waitress took our order, but then on return to the table we waited a few minutes before another waitress asked if we were served. she (the second waitress) at least did not forget us when the drinks arrived shortly after, and thereby earned this place another star, but this realluy seems to be a pretty hit and miss facility. Unfortunately, I think there is an element of forcedness, as they get a lot through the traffic of walkers. I would recommend the white hard for a better and more reliable service and probably far superior eating."

"Visited after just reopening following refurbishment. Looks really nice inside and the outdoor areas look much better. Was really busy, but worth the wait. First time I've had a Sunday roast there and it didn't disappoint."

"The menu seemed exciting but was disappointing . The lamb koftas had little taste of lamb and couldn’t tell it was supposed to have rosemary in them let alone the balsamic syrup. Lots of onion, tomato and cress as the salad but plain. The mushrooms on muffin was virtually tasteless, couldn’t decide what it was supposed to be . Staff were fine though busy and long waiting time .It was Bank holiday, so fare enough. Over all disappointing experience."

"I have visited the Dukes Head several times over the years and I have to say that it can vary from one occasion to another. I have found that lunchtime during the week is usually a good time to visit which suits my girlfriends and I very well. The staff on this occasion were very personable and efficient and my friends and I were very pleased with our food choices. I do feel that the prices are a little on the high side but that is true to say of many establishments these days."
