"We visited this morning and ordered two Chicken, Brie and Cranberry toasties, which sounded lovely. We also ordered a fresh ground pot of coffee and a pot of tea which came to £16.50 We waited half an hour for the food, but was very disappointed to find we were given Bacon, Brie and Cranberry toasties instead. Unfortunately we couldn’t get the attention of a member of staff to complain and to be honest we couldn’t wait a further 30 minutes for the toasties we had ordered to arrive again as we had an appointment. When we came to pay the member of staff asked what we had ordered, I mentioned what we had ordered and what we had received. The staff member looked at me and said £16.50, no mention of an apology or any other communication. We’ve been regularly for lunches over the years and it’s the first time I’ve been disappointed with the food and the staff."

"Went here for a special occasion whilst up in the Lakes. The menu looks good and some decent specials. Starters were good, especially the pork belly. The main courses weren’t what I expected, the sea bream dish with a pea fricassee was basically pan fried sea bream with fried potatoes, peas, chorizo and baby onions. No sauce that I could pick up. Didn’t get this dish at all and I don’t think it was served as intended, I notice now it has been replaced with Sea Bass. The haddock and chips, was good but the chips were so big and so many of them it would have been better with fries. And the mushy peas had seen better days."

"My Sons took their father for a Sunday lunch as a treat and their children and everyone had a lovely meal. The staff were very attentive and serviced us very well. I would recommend this pub for a meal as they were very tasty and...reasonably priced also. The only criticism of the building is the ladies toilets, even though they are modern the cleaner either needs sacking or reprimanding as the wall and radiator under the hand dryer is filthy and has been like that for years. Obviously the manager never checks the ladies toilets or he may have done something about it. I wet a tissue and wiped it to check it wasn’t staining and some came off on the tissue it’s disgusting."

"My favourite place to eat! Cater extremely well for everyone, food is always spot-on, the big cakes and cupcakes are always vegan with a new type every time I visit and are always delicious. Also, staff are always so friendly and helpful."

"Really tasty meal, great value and a fantastic view in the late summer sunshine on Walney. Well worth a visit. We had a panini and a toastie with a drink each. The food came in eco packaging with a salad and coleslaw... all for £16!"
