"When you get tired of sipping that glass of Pouligny Montrachet on the terrace overlooking that special parcel of land someone told you is sacred property or anguishing over which premiere cru Pinot Noir to order with your boeuf bourguignon you 've got a lovely change of pace with this dependable kebab joint conveniently located near place de Madeleine. Don 't worry, the white table cloths are late getting back from the dry cleaners but should be there soon. Meanwhile, enjoy that juicy doner kebab sandwich on fresh pide bread with that distinctive mild charcoal flavor and plenty of good garlicky yogurt sauce to complement the spit roasted meat. The fries, (frites, chips... are hot and plenty. Have an Efes beer, as well, to wash away the taste of that corked bottle of Les Grands Epenots that guy three towns back suckered you into buying for 90 bucks. Oh yeah, and have your wife take a picture of you eating here so you can email it to your friends back home who think there 's no manhood left in you after hearing you incessantly talk of vines and terroir. Seriously, these people are friendly, welcoming and the food is excellently prepared and reasonably priced. And they speak English. Enjoy."

"We had 90 minutes to go before our 2:30 tour of the Fallot mustard factory a block or so away, so we thought hey, let's try this cute little joint that looks packed with locals. That's exactly what it was packed with French speaking working class...locals enjoying a very inexpensive prix fixe menu. Mom and Pop place: host Loic and his chef wife Christel are members of the Le Payen family which has owned and operated this place since 1980. The congenial, outgoing Loic (pronounced low EEK) welcomed us like we were locals and the whole place felt relaxed and real. The food is respectable and the value is extraordinary. For 13.50 Euros, we got FOUR courses: (1) excellent very fresh salad with lardons, egg and a delicious Dijon mustard dressing, (2) main course of either stuffed cabbage or chicken thigh, both very decent and served with rice, (3) cheese plate with *five* cheeses, and (4) an ice cream bar in our choice of flavors. The wine list is short but packed with great values. We had the 9 Euro pinot noir first and it was perfectly lovely gentle and innocuous but with good flavor. Then we moved up to the 15 Euro pinot and there was a corresponding jump in quality. The wines come not in bottles but in cute little glass pitchers that hold half a bottle, and the glasses are nice and small, perfect for lunch. We had been eating in touristy restaurants for over a week, so to find an unpretentious little family owned joint like this was truly a breath of fresh air."

"Maison de Colombier a perfect location to enjoy fabulous wines and champagnes. They have a huge selection of the wine and champagnes. Food wine pairing is possible. Just ask them and they will take care of you right away!! Food is more tapas like but well presented and simply delicious. The rooms are quiet nice and the bed confortable. The service overall is really good, so I will love to come back for another stay or drink. Thanks cheers"
