"I have been a regular customer of HN 2nd floor bar since its openning close to 15 years ago. This is my favourite cocktail bar in Bristol. I love the knowledgeable, tentative, and yet very friendly and down to earth staff. Sadly, this afternoon’s experience was rather disappointing. Waiter had dismissive attitude, we had diffuculties drawing his attention to order drinks and pay the bill… It felt as we were in a dingy pub, which is absolutely fine if HN wants to take this route, except in that case you will not be able to justify charging £10-£12 per coctail. Pull up your socks HN!"

"A sweet little caffe right at the end of Christmas steps. they have a large selection of cakes and a small number of seats. I tried her donut was unfortunately somewhat disappointed as the texture was hard and not as fluffy as I expected, although the filling was delicious. the carrot and courgett cake was more a mossque than they bite in them than a damp cake I didn't like. I would come back to try some of the other cakes. update 12/4/22: again visited and tried their chocolate and beetroot cake absolutely delicious. perfect level of sweet, cake was moist with great taste. upgraded to 4 stars."

"Not one weeping. a caffe that invites local shops on redcliffe street. the rich is huge. mainly sandwiches and baked kartoffels with any topping imaginable. However, my baked potato was overcooked and left for too long in the heating. I would. the term “end” although the server remembered that it had changed me by £10 shortly. I wonder how many others had the same, but were not realized."

"Had lunch here, having just got a table before they were all taken. Our sandwiches were very fresh and tasty, and the choice of hot and cold drinks was excellent with some interesting possibilities. Service was generally good though we were kept waiting for well over 5 minutes before our order was taken. This, and the rather expensive prices, mean I'm giving it 4 rather than 5 stars, but it still stands out a mile from the boring chains."
