"I had the Philly cheese steak Panini, the menu mentioned mushrooms of which there was none and there was definitely a lot more cheese than there was actual substance but overall it was nice. My friend had pancakes, not pictured, which the cafe had advertised as being known for their great American pancake stacks.. however there was minimal bacon, minimal syrup, and the pancakes were on the smaller scale as to what was expected. We ordered milkshakes, not pictured, which the cafe had advertised itself as being known for however these were probably below average at best so please don't waste your money on them. All in all an average eatery. But don't be expecting greatness"

"We are on holiday and had delivered tee from mimi’s this afternoon. we cannot talk a lot about the food we have received. the presentation, the fresh, quality and quantity of food exceeded our expectations. we hope to repeat this experience in the future and intend to send a afternoon as a gift to friends living in the opposite."

"Tasty hot chocolate, mango and ginger cake with a caramel spiced fruit reduction was soooooo yummy. Worth a visit if your a tourist shame we're not local. Friendly and helpful staff. Thank you and all the best."

"Second visit to AliBob this year and thinking we should really visit more often! Just like last time, very friendly service, relaxed and laid back atmosphere but still efficient. Food absolutely delicious. We’d recommend the soup meze especially for people like me who can’t make their mind up and just want everything. I’d suggest a cake meze would be a great addition to the menu! We brought a couple of our friends with us today and they loved it too."

"A great way to spend a morning or afternoon, learning the incredible history of The Black Watch. Very well curated and laid out, the exhibition was both enjoyable and informative. There was also a treasure trail that our kids enjoyed completing as we toured around. The Bistro Restaurant was a great way to end our tour, enjoying coffees and cake in a lovely environment with table service. The staff onsite were all lovely and friendly and there was a small carpark available with plenty parking nearby also. We took a short walk from town (about 15 minutes) and it was easy to find."

"Any opportunity our family have, we take trips to Scotland, driving the 8 hours from Wales, knowing we will find a warm welcome everywhere we go. The hospitality of the Scots, together with spectacular scenery and great food make it well worth the journey. In all those years we have never felt unwelcome until we went into the Kirkstyle Inn, Dunning. It is obviously frequented by locals, a local place for local people. They were very busy and there were no tables available inside for dinner so we decided to go into their covered beer garden for drinks and pizza. There were occupied tables to our left and right, both having food, but when we went to order they told us they were not serving food outside. This obviously wasn’t true because everyone around us was eating, without a reservation. This upset the table next to us, so much so, that one of the diners went inside to fight our corner and ask why they wouldn’t serve us food. At that point some large lady came into the beer garden and said the food served outside had been a mistake but we could not have food. She was rude and belligerent. No apology for clearly only feeding favourite customers. We were definitely victimised here, for no reason I can think of. We didn’t make a fuss, just drank up and left. It was so nice of other customers to express their disappointment at how we were treated. I would never recommend this place to visitors. Go at your own risk! They clearly have a captive audience in a small village with no other pubs around. It’s sad they think as a result of their monopoly they can choose to be so dismissive of the people who provide their living. My background is hospitality, hotel management and I can honestly say the customers are our valued bread and butter, never a hindrance. For info we are a couple in our 60s (one celebrating his 60th) adult daughter and fiancé. So disappointing and clearly not the norm for this wonderful part of the world."
