"I have had the privilege of enjoying coffee and a scone here on many occasions. Sometimes it is at the end of a long bike ride, sometimes it is meeting a friend and catching up.This is a dog friendly zone and I am looking forward to bringing my pup here sometime."

"On a nice summer Saturday we decided to go to St. Jacobs, browse the shops and enjoy lunch at the Stone Crock. When we arrived they sat us quickly and we decided to have the buffet. In hind sight we probably would have preferred to order off the menu, but the buffet was okay. There is a good selection of hot items, salad bar, 2 soups, and a few sandwiches. The soup was delicious, and the ribs and corn on the buffet were also very good. I would say the salad bar was standard with nothing really special that stood out. The pre-made sandwiches were bland and we found the bread dry. The remaining items that we tried on the hot buffet were, again, just okay with nothing that was outstanding. We felt that the cost (about $17 each) was a bit high, especially with no desserts included (extra $4.99 if you want to add it). We did not add the dessert. So, we left full, and overall it was a fine lunch, but nothing on the buffet would make us rush back for a second visit."

"I loved the java garden, as soon as I came in I found the environment very friendly and the staff welcoming. The soup was excellent and it is best pared with a panini or wrap. As soon as I sat down my food was warm and ready. when I tasted the soup it was so extraordinary, creamy and warm with the taste of roasted red pepper. In Short my visit was excellent and I would recommend this to all my friends and family."

"We sat outside on the terrace overlooking the river conestoga. the food was excellent. we had the big cheese and the Hawaiian pizza. the service was great and we saw the many birds at the bird food. there was even an eagle in the river sitting on a rock, they brought us her far glass to see him better."

"My husband and I ate here for lunch today. We had eaten at the Cedar Barn several times through the years. Your basic "bacon and eggs special" kind of place, very popular with the locals and the working men in the area. Kara's is quite different, and anyone walking in expecting the Cedar Barn experience will be disappointed. Having said that, I did like the idea of it, as we try to eat as healthy and local as we can. This is a cafe, not a restaurant. You order at the counter and help yourself to whatever drink you have chosen. I ordered an egg and spinach sandwich. Not sure what I was expecting, it tasted good, but I personally don't like soggy whole spinach on a sandwich, I found it hard to eat. Also, Although the cafe was pretty empty, it took about 20 minutes to get our sandwiches. We weren't in a big hurry, so that wasn't a problem for us, but it might be for someone on a tight schedule. One thing I thought was great is that they have local produce and baking for sale. Lots of organic things too. It's not a massive selection, but everything there looked good. You can also get a prepackaged sandwich meal, tuna or egg salad for 7.99 or so. So, handy if you want something to go.Overall, if you are a person that likes organic, local, healthy foods, they are certainly putting some effort into providing it. it's great to have the choice."
