"We booked a table for Saturday lunch and enjoyed a mixed meat and cheese platter as well as a board of foie gras. Great food and ambience, excellent service and fair prices. This business deserves your support and you won’t be disappointed. We understand that they do wine tastings too. You can choose a bottle from their shelves and enjoy it there for the shelf price plus £4.50 corkage. We will definitely be back!!!"

"Simply perfect in charm and performance. willows serves homemade food exactly as it should be. we stopped halfway in andover through a longer trip and were so enchanted with willows, we would actually go as a goal in itself another time. we had a jacket kartoffel and tee and a brie and bacon roasted sandwich. we were so tempted by the great selection at desserts, but not. apparently the restaurant was a historical post office before. the wooden beams and the traditional artefacts complemented our pleasure."

"I was given a voucher as a birthday present which was a great idea. It is very tastefully decorated and made me feel relaxed and pampered. The little gift shop in the foyer sold useful things eg socks and tasteful Christmas decorations. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The toilets were clean well stocked and smelt lovely. They even had hand cream. The afternoon tea was huge and consisted of 4 different types of delicious sandwich one of which the staff happily changed when we said we didn't eat fish,and 4 different cakes then a scone. The only thing I would change is that the scone was too big as we ate that after the sandwiches and were too full up to eat all the cakes. However we were given boxes to take the remainder away in so could prolong our enjoyment at home. We came from Salisbury for this experience and if I had realised the barn was in the middle of the countryside I would have brought some walking boots and gone for a walk in the nearby woods. I enjoyed it here and will return."

"A huge disappointment. The place was almost empty apart from one old man at the bar with his even older spaniel. After about five minutes, a man in a t shirt with staff on he back appeared and said Yes? We asked about lunch and were told it was being served Pick up a menu as you go through . It was tipping down outside or we would have left then, but we risked it. Every single thing on the menu was obviously microwaved, and there was no smell of food, no welcome, no chef or other staff unless you count the chap who switched the microwave on and off,no other customers except four bikers who only ate vast quantities of chips,and when our (completely under cooked) whitebait arrived it wasn 't even hot. We were both ill afterwards, This has been for years and years the most wonderful pub and restaurant, our go to place for cosseting and comfort, and it was my husband 's 80th birthday. If you are anther former regular, we would urge you to think again."

"Disappointing ploughman’s lunch. At £13.99 it was basically unimaginatively plonked on a plate, the ‘artisan’ bread tasted like a cheap roll, tasteless tomato . I am adding a photo and to compare and contrast a photo of a ploughman’s from Combe Garden Centre which was only one penny more at £14. Please have pride in your kitchen and deliver something to be proud of!"

"Four of us went for a 3 course prebooked £31 each Christmas lunch on the 14 Dec. Only 2 other tables were in use, none had the Christmas lunch. After some wait, 3 had soup, the bowls came on large wooden boards which were too big for the table. The soup tasted OK. The main course for all was turkey. 2 requested no sprouts, no alternative veg was given. There were 3 slices of turkey, 3 small roast potatoes and some carrots hidden under the turkey. The plates were cold so the meal soon was cold. The waitress was informed, so the plates (with partly eaten food were removed and eventually replaced with hot clean plates, hot gravey and a bowl of hot veg including parsnips, beans and carrots. (should we have had this originally? . As one of our party has dementia and was getting rather aggitated by all of this, we did not complain further. The dessert was fine. We did get free hot drinks in compensation at the table, Prosecco was offered. I later complained to the hotel, but no reply has been received."
