"This is my fav Italian joint in Zurich. La Famiglia Tremonte is a small, family-run cafe restaurant serving excellent and authentic Italian food at prices that are low compared to the standard in Zurich. Famiglia Tremonte is quite inconspicuous at the corner...Zurlindenstrasse and Birmensdorferstrasse, a few doors away from Desperado Mexican Restaurant. You may have to look a little: I lived practically next door and didn't notice it almost a year, and even then a friend had to show it to me. The restaurant is usually a take-out with very small seats, i.e. 7 people inside, and if the weather is Goo, about 5 people outside. The ambience is fundamental, but like most things in Switzerland, the interiors are very clean. Staff and service are very goo. The food here is great! Authentic Italian fare, which is probably heavily influenced by Sicilian tradition, as the family originates. I visited almost every day because the food tastes good and the prices for Zurich are so low. I tried almost everything: several pasta dishes, polpettin, stuffed paprika, meat loaf, piadina and of course the fabulous tasty and hot chili infused EVOO. I enjoyed every dish I ordered. Great stuff! I recommend the super hot chili infused EVOO as a spice for almost all dishes, but above all the pasta dishes that come in a cream sauce. Please be careful with Chili EVOO: 0.5 EL for Noobs, and max. of 2 EL for those who like it hot. The Chili EVOO, if used accordingly, gives your dish a great taste. Piadina is the best thing I've eaten. I was all over the world, spent a lot of time in Italy and New York: great place for Italian food lovers: and I still think that is the best Piadina ever. They also serve a few nice Italian desserts that I tried a few, but the names have forgotten. They also have a small selection of Italian ingredients for sale. I bought the Pesto and was happy with it. You will also receive a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic Italian drinks to go with the food. Prices are relatively low in Zurich: I have rarely eaten more than CHF 15 and if I have skipped the drinks, it was usually around CHF 10. Of course, this varies a bit after what you order. Very recommended. I'm glad I found this place. Great for office workers nearby."

"They consistently offer three vegan pasta dishes. However, two of them are sharp and the only non-spicy is tomato sauce. They cannot customize their sauces as they are prefabricated (i asked). Sometimes they offer a special dish or seasonal dish that is vegan, but not always. It was a bit disappointing for me, but the pasta itself was delicious."

"Old school raclette and fondue spot. excellent service, sweet room, great food! we had both raclette and fondue and both were great, but we had to choose one, it is a simple choice: the raclette hands down. and in any case add the sweet paprika. they were beautiful."

"We had the course dinner paired wines. We thoroughly enjoyed the hours we spent there. Every course as well as the amuse bouche were incredible, both in taste and in looks. The plates themselves were boring (all white) compared to what we've...seen elsewhere but that's probably by design: so we focus on the food itself. The pace was also great throughout the dinner. The wine pairing is really expensive (more expensive than the meal itself) which is a bit outrageaous, but we'd say at least half the wines really were fantastic extensions of the corresponding food, which isn't always the case (sometimes it's just a nice pairing, but not really that magical chemistry), so we'd recommend it. If you'd like to save and don't want to be too drunk at the end of the meal or throw away half the wine, you can ask to share one wine pairing for Probably an outrageous thing to do, but we resent paying and then throwing away so much good wine so this arrangement works great for us."

"Having been to the Balkans a few times, I have developed a love for grilled meat like a true carnivore! Cevapdzinica Letzi is a simple restaurant, with an outdoor seating which is perfect in the summer for sitting outside with a frosty beer and a plate of Cevapcicis with homeade Avjar with sweet onions, and wood stove fresh baked bread. Hospitality is friendly as one expects from the Balkans in general. I believe the owner is from Croatia? His proud heritage comes through the meal served with a lot of heart (.and paprika!)"

"We have visited over 3 times in the past 4 months and at best had a drink before leaving because the place was filled with smokers smoke. A thing of the past you may think but they have a smokers room attached to the restaurant and appears to leak, or as the waiter told us, "it's the smell of pizza bread burning". Humour aside this is a real shame as it was a gem.Last visit was this weekend 11/05/13, we walked in and we walked out and they had Wiener Schnitzel on the menu too.... :(("
