"My son and I stayed by and it was a very pleasant surprise. Not a big place and the owner is very hands on operations. He is a fascinating man who feels welcome to you with an old world vibe. The food is fresh and very good. My son had the chicken parmigiana and it was delicious. I had spicy meatballs and pasta. It was good, but didn't taste the spices. Next time I'll go with the woman. She would love it."

"The Marquis Tavern is in the ground floor of The Lafayette House. It's a pretty good choice in this area for a very good meal, but also you can get the best Eggs Benedict here. You can also get a dozen fabulous large Shrimp in the shells served on ice at a very reasonable price. They have great Nachos and the Oysters are fantastic. The Onion Soup is great too. But getting down to whole meals they make great Hamburgers, great Chicken Parmigiana, great Ruben sandwiches and great French Dip. The Prime Rib is delicious and so is the Chicken Caesar Salad. These are all dishes my wife and I have had and can vouch for, I'm sure there are many others that are good too. Finally, this is a great place to have a quiet drink on a Sunday afternoon and try the Shrimp or Oysters or Nachos. Enjoy."
