"Parmas of Sydney edition A few weeks ago three of our members took a sneaky trip down to Sydney to see Above and Beyond at #ABGT150. What a night it was, but as soon as we got off the plane we knew two things: 1. That Melbourne's better 2. We needed a Sydney parma After a little sightseeing we stumbled across Jacksons on George, an awesome Irish pub with multiple levels. We ordered the parma which was $22 and to our surprise they used the same currency as us Melbournians. After 20 minutes the birds arrived and we got to it. "Cheers has been a major pit stop for many of us over the years and through it’s temporary evolution of the 80 Proof spinoff, we rediscovered a great underground venue space that hosts a lineup of entertainment from stand up comedy to hip hop crew dance-offs to corporate functions. So it’s nice that it goes back to basics with what we loved most about it - Sport, Entertainment and Hearty food. Currently there is a streak of Asian in some of the dishes which makes sense, but all our old faves are still there.<br>

THE HAWKER PLATE is a mixed grill of pork belly slices and southern fried chicken. Its a great example of how it’s menu has streaks of Asian influence through it, as it shares the board with Thai/Malaysian street style peanut sauced Satay Chicken sticks - a welcome addition.<br>

THE VERMICELLI NOODLE SALAD takes you Vietname with the crunch from the bean sprouts and kick of slight chill and coriander with battered sliced fish through it!<br>

Mate had the NY BURGER: (Quote) "I went the double bacon cheeseburger and wasn't dissapointed. Not my preferred cheddar, prefer the American, but the beef and bacon were good. Bun was soft. Again, my dislike of sweet caramelised onions on a beef burger was apparent to me. Chips although basic were well seasoned.” - I love caramelized onion so this burger would have been up my alley, but I was very pleased with my choice!<br>

Lucky enough to be served by the manager himself, Mark and very personable character with superfast delivery times from the (I peered in) small kitchen! It’s like magic I tell ya!!!<br>

"This pub is next store to the hotel we were staying. Friendly, loud (during the week), good food and big screen sports TV. Our 15 beers on tap, thank goodness no Bud. We were visiting Sydney for a week and eat here 5 nights. Plates can be shared easily. Daily special. Salmon cakes, Sirloin steak and fish and chips were excellent. All can be shared. Since we are from the US we thought the prices were high, but found out that all food prices in Australia are higher than US. All food and beverage ordered and aid at the bar. Food is delivered to table."

"World Square is packed with nice Asian restaurants so I didn't expect to find a nice cafe, but I was pleasantly surprised. Nothing fancy on the menu but they use fresh ingredients and it's cooked to perfection. If you're at World Square area and looking for a nice brunch cafe, Gazzi is your place. I give this place 4 bears"
