"A very nice little spot off of Melrose and La Cienega. Beautiful dining area inside and a complete lack of pretentiousness. Expect just about everything on the menu to be stellar. Get the short ribs if you can. The ceviche/crudo offerings are all stellar and offer their own unique personalities. The rice dishes are well thought out and balanced. It's very relaxed even when it gets busy. I'd recommend taking your time and exploring several menu items at one sitting. Reservations are a good idea since after the 1st hour it does get quite busy. A great Friday cocktail and early dinner spot."

"I ate dinner from their dine in menu. The food was decent, but from a vegetarian stand point the options were limited. I was reduced to carb-heavy options consisting mostly of potato. I'd like to see a better variety of dishes here. My favourite dish was definitely the Pumpkin and Sweet Potato Galette. It was very tasty, and I would have even been happy to eat it as a main if the serving was bigger, or had a few other things on it."

"Lovely setting right next to the harbour and amazing service. Delicious entree and dessert. Mains were average had the beef cheek and salmon. Service was great because I only wanted to mention the beef cheek was very dry but they gave us our dessert free as an apology for this."

"We thought we'd dip our head to see if there could be something vegan on the off-chain that I could possibly eat for brunch! I was overwhelmed with options. over 25 options on the menu, characterized by a sweet carrot with brot, baked, puddings, tarts, salate, suppening, plates and sandwiches. presentation was adorable! my omni friend enjoyed his ham and cheese croissant meal also thoroughly! we'll try a few wein and platelets again soon!"

"I rate Grandma's. Caters mostly to the businesses around it but its a unique concept with very fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. Quick service and friendly staff. Only shortfall is very limited seating."

"We have always eaten in the Ship Inn on the way back from South Wales because it was a beautiful, typical "rustic" English pub. The former owner Mike and his manager and boss, Jane, new their profession and exactly what their customers wanted simple, very tasty English cuisine and comfort food. It's been three years and in that time it's changed hands. Oh, my God, our once good experience is over. It is now called 'boutique ' pub'. It was newly decorated and refurbished, obviously on a limited budget and the menu has changed. We must say that the renovation in our modest opinion has failed terriblely. It is cheap and sticky and we were shocked that the beautiful old English wooden beams were painted in a fungal emulsion paint and the new seats are a purple comminuted velvet material with a ring on the back? Was that to fix your dog? It looks really cheap and sticky. How bad. There were four of us, one did not eat, two had the homemade Rindburger and I had the fillet steak with peppercorn sauce. What a compassion did not match the ambience of the place with the food. My steak was perfectly cooked and tasted really delicious. The burgers were definitely made at home, but the 'consumers' did not like the taste of a herb / ingredients in them. I personally thought it would be very nice, apart from the fact that it was served on a slate!! What about restaurants today? Slate, bowls, wooden blocks?? Why do we just eat from a plate? Sadly not the old comfort food dishes prepared like Jane (mother juices, steak and kidney pudding, liver and bacon etc... but never less what we ate this week was pretty good. But because the ambience and character of the place have been completely ruined, unfortunately we will not return. Needless to say, there was not another soul at the place from beginning to end. To put the last nail in the coffin for us, they no longer sell Hobson's beer! Sacrilege!"
