"Lovely café on a corner in the central shopping area of Caldas da Rainha. Very popular with lunchtime diners as they do a good looking salad 4 ingredients plus a dressing for 4 euros 50. We visited for coffee and pastries as they were so...good worthy of a top pastry chef yet costing just over a euro. The coffee was the best we'd tried yet in Portugal, as we like ours quite strong with a dash of hot milk the equivalent of a decent Antipodean flat white. We found this here, it was called an abatinado pingado and cost a mere 70 cents. Friendly staff, plus an outdoor seating area fantastic place which we revisited. Oh and they do great ice cream too, in several flavours. Highly recommended."

More than years living nearby and we were surprised that we haven't been in O Gordao yet!Good job we did because we will come back many times more!Monica, the lady that served us, speaks English and it was a pleasure have met her. "We haven't been here for a while, and have enjoyed lunch here in the past. As we were in Caldas for the afternoon we stopped for coffee and cake. The cakes, which were as good as ever, were simply delicious, and very generous portions also......"

"Yes this place is noisy and busy. Its just like being in a hotel buffet. If you are prepared for that then overall its a great experience. There are soups/salads/starters and a choice of about 10 main meals fish/meat/veg with rice/chips/pasta/potatoes. There is a huge range of desserts and one drink is included in the price. The chefs constantly refill the food and it is kept at a good hot temperature. We enjoyed all the food and had no concerns about hygiene. Its great to just eat at your own pace and actually despite the busyness it is not chaotic and well managed. You simply cannot beat this for value!"

"I have yet to find an Indian restaurant in the entire Lisbon area that is worth re visiting. Most are mediocre, some are bad. Sadly, this one falls into the latter category. I must assume that those who rate this establishment highly have never eaten Indian food out of Lisbon. Perhaps we chose badly, but... Onion baji total garbage, the only time in all my life we've ever disliked this dish Vegetable pakoras three vegetables, one each of: not bad, garbage, total garbage Chicken jalfrezi sauce pretty good, but chicken overcooked. Tandoori king prawn lacking in flavour; prawn somewhat overcooked Jeera rice good Price for above plus rice and two Colas: about 36.50 Euros."
